this guitar is all i have been looking for. the p-90 pickups have both the meaty and singing quality. sustain is forever. you dont get the flashy binding and glitz of a higher priced les paul but if sound is what you are looking for it is all right here. and what a price for a gibson made right here in the USA!

This guitar is a great instrument, especially for the money. I have several Gibson Les Paul's, both customs and standards.. but I didn't have one with the P-90's in it, which is why I specifically bought this one. They sound great and the guitar plays as good as anything in my arsenal..( fine out of the box but you may want to tweak the setup to your specs)...If you want fancy and really pretty, your'e going to have to spend more money, but you can't beat this one for under 900 bucks !!! The finish and overall craftmanship on this guitar are great. I'm glad I got it and I'm proud to put it in line with all my other fine GIBSON guitars !

Musical Background:

I have been playing almost 30 years.. Acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, banjo ,slide guitar, dobro.Live and studio work.

Musical Style:

I have played it all over the years..metal and hard rock, classic and alternative rock, sothern rock, blues...but lean more towa

This is a very bare bones guitar, almost like Gibson's BFG that being said for the price it is a good guitar. If you want something really nice you better save up for a more high price Gibson but if you want a bare studio version and need a Gibson this is for you. As far as zzounds goes, I tried to get a guitar at AMS and their verification system is insane where they want to call your bank. Zzounds doesn't any if that and had an 8 payment deal. I ordered it and the next day around 10am it was here. Zzounds is awesome. I kinda wish I would of gotten a more expensive high end Gibson but maybe next time.

I have several guitars but dammit, the sexy honeyburst of the 60s Tribute and the p-90s were tempting me for a while. When Zzounds offeref its 8-payments plan, well, it was a no brainer. This is a solid, gorgeous usa-made les paul for under a grand. Lightweight body. Beautiful, stunning non-glossy finish. The slim neck profile is very comfortable and the baked maple fretboard feels exactly like rosewood. The guitar was playing and feeling great right out of the box (action a tad high for my taste which was corrected in a jiffy) The P-90s truly scream. I'm not a p-90 expert and I've heard the ones in these guitars are louder than most. I love the sound, growly and crunchy just right below the explosive humbuckers I have in my LP studio. I actually bought this guitar hoping it would be somewhat of a sonic midway between my LP and my strat and I think it filled that niche nicely. It's been a month and I still can't put it down. Looks, plays, feels, sounds AWESOME. And seriously, the honeyburst looks so nice I want to eat it! I'll be upgrading bridge and tailpiece to Tonepros to make it even more solid. Grab yours while you can, I heard the tribute series will be out of production soon. A fantastic guitar at a great price. Even a sweeter deal with Zzounds 8 payment plan.

I can say that I really got a good guitar on this deal. It arrived in perfect condition.I have been getting kind of tired of paint after all the years and this honey bursthas the most beautiful woodgrain. And everything they say about the P90's? It's all true my friends, really awesome pickups. It's not a custom but it's all Gibson . Sounds nice and sweet clean, gets down and dirty with some preamp. Absolutely the best Gibson you can get for the money.

I've been playing for 25 years ,mostly rock and blues. I played lead in a band in the 80's but now I like to write and record in

I felt rushed by the operator and went for it, only to find that if i did have the time to study before i bought the les paul studio 60's tribute dark back, I would never had bought it. not what i call a 'les paul'. disappointed that i fell for it , and feel tricked. i know he , the operator , didn't mean to do anything. but well, here i am anyways.
