Gibson 2014 Les Paul Standard Plus Electric Guitar (with Case)

With its AAAA maple top, this Les Paul is a collector's item. But with its asymmetrical SlimTaper neck and compound-radius fretboard, it's a gigging machine.

Although I am a drummer I have always been aware of the Les Paul legacy and tone via Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads & Jeff Beck to name a few. I am also lucky enough to have passed on my love of music to all of my sons, one of who plays guitar and has always dreamed of one day owning a Les Paul Standard. Its been my dream to give him one and now the dream becomes a reality. He now is a proud owner of a 2014 Les Paul Standard Plus Tobacco Burst and honestly he is simply on cloud 9. Simply put this is an amazing guitar with amazing tone. If its your dream ? Live it. Thank you Gibson

I had only owned one Gibson Les Paul in my life. I had gotten it when i was a teenager and loved it. It needed some work and i ended up trading it to a friend for a new guitar. I've regretted it since. I had the opportunity last month after 22 years to own another and went for it. It arrived quickly and when i opened the case i was blown away by how gorgeous this thing was. The flame with honeyburst was amazing. I think i starred at it for an hour before realizing i could be playing it. Out of the case the intonation was spot on. The action was just right. The tones you can achieve with the coil taps are fantastic. After starring at this guitar the extra money for the plus is well justified in my eyes. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking for something stunning to look at and wanting some tonal diversity.

I bought my first Gibson Les Paul in 1972. As time and many guitars passed by, I found myself wanting another one recently. I did some on-line shopping and came upon a Les Paul Standard model with AAAA maple top in Rootbeer Burst and knew that was the one. When it arrived it was even better looking than the photos. The sound matched the looks as well. The BurstBucker Pro pickups are an excellent choice to blend with an instrument of this caliber. No need to restate the features here, but to simply say it is one of the finest guitars I have ever owned at any price.

Musical Background:

Playing since 1965. Weekend bands, etc. (I didn't quit my day job) Now just for fun at home.

Musical Style:

Classic rock. A little country like Hank Jr and such.
