This is my 3rd Firebird, and without a doubt, my favorite. The soloist neck is very smooth and fast making pull-offs, hammer-ons, and your favorite Page or Gilmore solo a breeze even with this beast. I was very skeptical ("Old School") about the G-force system, as this was just something else that had the potential of breaking. So far it has been flawless with accurate tuning with only a strum across the strings. The 495's are "Hot" as you would expect with these mini's. Upgraded toggle switch and other hardware is first class. I love my HP Firebird as it is my new "Number one"..... I'm sure a much more in depth review will follow after I experience about 6 more months of road testing. You need to have one of these beasts in your hands to appreciate the HP upgrade...An awesome instrument worth every penny.

I'm a huge Fender and Gibson fan who recently started playing Gretsch. I have a Gibson Les Paul that truly delivers the quality I need and this Firebird is no exception. I am absolutely, positively, blown away by the quality and standard this guitar has displayed OUT OF THE BOX. To be clear, I used the G-force a few times and then it's been solid and set in place. No intonation issues or adjustment... nothing but perfection. This is my first Firebird and I am so happy. I am truly satisfied. Gibson you have my loyalty. The pickups are rock n roll to the T. But for the single coil to Filtertron worship leader clean tone twang you're going to need some customization like maybe coil tapping which is what I will end up doing. I still dig the minihumbuckers, they are so warm and perfect for loud amps. Ideal for a great fuzz overdrive. Once again, I couldn't ask for a better Gibson Firebird. The HP neck is still fat like a hollowbody. My Les Paul has a '50's neck and it's way small more rounded and short as the Firebird is flatter and feels longer. This biggest difference about this guitar is that you have great access to frets passed the the 12th fret with a strap on. Amazing guitar, tunes perfectly.
