Gibson ES-335 Studio Electric Guitar (with Gig Bag)

This stripped-down version of the 335 removes the soundholes and strips the tonestack to one Dirty Fingers Plus humbucker, for a sleek and unique guitar.

I just received this guitar and it is MAGICAL! If I had this 40 years ago, I have no doubt I would have become a star. This guitar, with its one little humbucker does things it should take a half dozen guitars to do. It is making me a better player than I am. You have to try it to see what I mean. This guitar far exceeds my expectations.
Sound
The sound is very mysterious. One minute I am finger picking Scarborough Faire and the tone is dialed down and very sweet, almost angelic, then I hit a quick upstroke and it is as if a tiger was lurking there, and it roars and snarls to life for that one note and grabs you, then purrs and lays back down. My God I love it! How does Gibson do it? I have another one humbucker guitar, my old Kramer, and it just stays in the one tonal area I set for it. This Gibson ES 335 however seems to have an untamed quality to it like it is reading my mind and knows where I need to be going. I can 't put this guitar down. I have named her Scheherazade because it will take me 1001 nights to even begin to learn all her secrets.
Features
With one humbucker, I was afraid it would be somewhat limited to a rocky, crunchy sound. Man, was I ever wrong. This guitar has enough punch and versatility for a half dozen others.
Ease of Use
As explained above, the sounds pour from this guitar like there is some kind of secret back door wormhole to another dimension. You have to play it to believe how it both responds and spontaneously creates.
Quality
Extremely high quality. I own a G and L strat, a Gibson Les Paul, and a very limited edition Fernandes Ravelle. This is as good as any of them. Tuned it out of the box, stretched strings and then re -tuned. Played for 4 hours straight and she is stillnin tune. Action is low. Frets all in good shape. Finish is Midnight Blue, which is appropriate because I will be up playing with for many midnights.
Value
Heck yes!
Manufacturer Support
I just got it, but I already own one Gibson and two Epiphones. They have never needed service.
The Wow Factor
Wow is an understatement. This guitar is enchanted!

I had a great experience with ordering through zZounds, this is a great company that offers great service. Unfortunately I had some problems with the product quality but the zZounds team was able to accommodate these problems with quick overnight service and easy to work with service support. My ES-335 Studio sounds and plays awesome, but aesthetically I was very disappointed in Gibson's quality of producing this guitar. I sent two back thinking it was just a one off but after the third one I realized it was just pour craftsmanship (unsanded Edges, Scraped Truss rod Covers, Pickup Concaved, Although it came with a card saying in was inspected, with all the rough edges on it I’m not sure anyone looked at it at all. They must have a union over at the Memphis plant.
