Years ago I had a chance to pick up a Les Paul guitar for a very good price but 2 things doomed the deal: the action was too high and the guitar was way too heavy. I am also not a big fan of the traditional Les Paul look, but who cares...I had recently been desiring a semi-hollow guitar, and while the ES-335 is probably the best choice, its 16.5 inch-wide body made it just as inaccessible to me as a 10 pound Les Paul.Enter the Gibson 2016 ES Les Paul. When I saw that zZounds had it -- finally the cross between an ES-35 and a light-weight Les Paul -- I couldn't believe my eyes. The fact that it was available in Pelham Blue pretty much sealed the deal for me. The guitar arrived on time and expertly packed by the folks at zZounds; I really appreciate the great work in packing my new guitar.I immediately tuned it up and jacked it into my Fender amp, and wow! The guitar had amazing tonal qualities and it was extremely light! I couldn't believe that it had the Les Paul stamp on the head stock and yet it could be so light!I ordered a Rivera Fandango 55 amp to explore it further because this is guaranteed to be the favorite guitar in my collection for quite some time. I wholeheartedly recommend the Gibson 2016 ES Les Paul to anyone who wants a quality blues guitar but doesn't want to break their back with a heavy instrument or buy something that is too big for their frame. I just didn't want to look like the guitar was playing me!Finally, a huge THANK YOU to the folks at zZounds. I am very pleased with your service.
