Thanks to zZounds I was finally able to purchase my first American made guitar. The V did not let me down. Everything from the pickups, neck, tuners, and looks surpassed my expectations. When I opened the case I was in awe of the looks. I played it unplugged and could tell immediatly what a fine crafted instrument it is.
Sound
The 500t pickup is very hot.Great for us metal heads! But i was worried that the V was a one trick pony. Its not. I am not expert but cutting back the Volume and Tone and some adjusments on my Blackstar amp I was able to get some not so hot tones.
Features
I love the rosewood neck. The way it feels and the radius are great for my style of play. Mostly rhythm and basic soloing
Ease of Use
Its a guitar.
Quality
Like I said before everything is top quality and it shows
Value
Great price. I dont regret buying it.
Manufacturer Support
have not had to deal with gibson
The Wow Factor

I have always enjoyed playing and collecting Gibson Les Paul's. This was my first adventure into the Flying V shape. I must say that I am impressed! The weight of this guitar is amazing being that is it very light. The pickups on this guitar scream and the neck feels great. I play rock and blues mostly, from Led Zeppelin to Albert King and everything in between. I would recommend this guitar to any collector, basement player or pro. Also zzounds is incredible with flexible payments and fast shipping.

Love the feel of this guitar. Lightweight and good balance.
Sound
Changed out the bridge pickup day 1 to a Dimarzio super distortion, and the combination of the pickup and wood screams!
Features
Neck feels good, perfect thickness for my hands
Ease of Use
nice easy access to up frets
Quality
Couldn't get the guitar to tune or intonate. Upon further inspection, found the A and D strings reversed. Suprised to say the least that it passed thru Gibson's quality control that way.
Value
overall it's worth a grand
Manufacturer Support
never dealt with them so couldnt rate them high
The Wow Factor
Looks sharp,, nice case.. Gibson might have went with better tuning heads

Will have this guitar a long time! Very good build quality. Love the way it plays, love the way it sounds, love the way it feels!! Great guitar!!
Sound
Love the sound this guitar produces! The 490R and 500T pick ups are amazing. I'm playing this axe through a Peavey 5150 II stack and a Marshall JCM2000 TSL100 stack. It sounds great through both amps! Could not believe how light this guitar is. When I first got it out of the case, i almost threw it across the room! Unbelivebly Light!! Gibson USA rocks!!!
Features
Great action, set at the factory! Dead on !! Just tuned "her" up, and started rock'in!! LOVE the neck! Very easy to play. Almost plays itself!!
Ease of Use
All around great guitar! Gibson Quality!! For the money, this is a quality instrument! Controls are right at hand! Smooth action.
Quality
Finish is beautiful! Very glossy finish! Everything as should be. Hang tags, owners manual, warranty cards, ect. High quality case also included!
Value
Great guitar for a great price! This is a little pricey for a starter guitar but a great investment! Will last many years if taken care of.
Manufacturer Support
I own more Gibson products. I love the support they give you. Had a problem with a pick-up on my 1984 Gibson Explorer. Sent it to the factory, got it re-wound! Sounds great now! Way more output! Love those factory guys. The BEST!!!
The Wow Factor
Love the balanced feel of this guitar! Not to neck heavy. Very easy to play standing up or sitting down. Also looks badass!!! I always loved K.K. Downing playing his, in Judas Priest!!

"Gibson's Flying V is really where it's at."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This guitar, if taken care of right, will provide a lifetime of enjoyment and will possibly out live you. That said, due to it being a Gibson, in the years to come as it gets older the value will only go up.
Sound
You will never find a guitar that sounds so great and is so comfortable to play. Les Pauls are over rated, this is where it's at.
Features
The hardshell case that comes with these guitars are top notch Gibson cases.
Ease of Use
This guitar is beastly, you can play it all night and never feel it. It's perfectly balanced, so you don't get the whole head tilt thing that you get with Jacksons. This is a work of art, there is a reason these came out in 1958 and they are still in use.
Quality
It's Gibson. I think that is all that really needs to be said.
Value
Picking this up from anywhere between $1000 - $1200 is an amazing value. Get 'em while you can at these prices, because once they go back up to $1400 - $1700, you'll kick yourself.
Manufacturer Support
Once again, it's Gibson. Top of the line support.
The Wow Factor
It's a Flying V, is there anything sexier?
