If quality is a concern, this bass and the case were flawless. The sound of this RD is intense, but offers a wide range of tones with the simplest of controls. There is no neck-dive as with the Thunderbird, but the weight is the same (33 lbs), which is the only thing I don't like about this striking instrument. My other basses are active, so it's nice using this bass at a gig without having to stop and by 9-volt batteries. They only made 400 of these, so I believe it's a "sound" investment.
