I just got this guitar, & I instantly fell in love with how playable it is.It's not to heavy in weight, & the oversized 70's headstock has alway been my favorite...anyway, the tone is on the money with that classic Fender tone. I've already logged in a good 8hrs, in a matter of a few days. If your are looking for a great guitar, this is it. It's made in Mexico & the only real difference between a MIA vs MIM is the price, & one less fret on the MIM. It comes with a $200 set of custom shop pups which evens the playing field of quality specs...& still less expensiveYOU CANT GO WRONG.p.s. The Mexico factory has more guitarist making your strats, than the U.S. factory does, which means they know how to put that extra love of how it should be made & sound like. The Only thing I can say negative is that I wish the custom shop Texas specials came already installed in it, instead in a box with it..but that's it

Unlike other mim fenders I've bought, this particular model needed a complete set up, the first I've found in this condition, usually the mex fenders are very good out of the box, action, intonation, etc. After setting it up I am very happy with the guitar, proud to put it in my collection and rotation. The white and maple look great, finish is excellent, three ply pickguard with black in the middle accentuates the guitar perfectly. The Texas specials are great, plenty of grit if you need it and cleans up just as well.

I have always believed that the MIM strats were the best bang for your buck. Well, I must say, I have a great one here. The guitar plays and feels as good, or better than any American Strat I have ever owned. With the Tex Specials, it is a homerun. The quality on the MIM strats are exceptional. The only place that need a little attention is the fretwork on the edge of the neck. A few of the tangs were sticking out past the edge of the neck, but easy to remedy. The tone and resonance on this guitar is awesome. I could tell just by strumming it unplugged, that is was a good one. My opinion, save money and buy a MIM strat and get a good set of pickups to stick in it. Great value.

"Fantastic deal"

Everyone should have at least one stratocaster in their arsenal and this is a great choice. Although I'm partial to humbuckers, sometimes I crave a bluesy SRV tone and this nails it. The standard Stratocaster sounds ok but just doesn't have the depth of tone that the American made Fenders have. This package solves that issue for half the price of a U.S. made stratocaster. The texas specials sound great, clean or dirty. They have complexity and depth with a bite that really cuts through without being harsh. The fit and finish were as good as some of my guitars that cost 3 times what this one did. The setup was also spot on with low action and no buzzing. Don't let the made in Mexico issue be an issue. It's a quality guitar and the U.S. made customers shop pickups, it's an excellent choice. I'd grab one while you can because this is the best deal going if you are looking to bang out some SRV, Hendrix or Clapton. Surprisingly, it'll do country too!
