Fender Stratacoustic Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Time will tell. We're off to a very good start.
Sound
When used as directed, this guitar sounds super.
Features
Would like to see Fender offer effects or even answer the line six modeling challenge. If this guitar were equiped with similiar technology, I belive it would outsell the variax. The Classic Four from Fishman is suitable for my purposes.
Quality
Very new, and to me quality is best judged after some time has passed.
Value
Was looking at similiar offerings form the other major companies. This fit the price point/bang for the buck the best for me.
Manufacturer Support
Never delt with Fender. But then again, I never have had a need too.
The Wow Factor
Classic lines, great shiny color, I specifically wanted something that was "like a strat" combined with something "like an acoustic"....That is exactly what I got at a fair price.

"PLAY ONE IN A STORE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE YOU BUY."

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars

Sound
VERY POOR ACOUSTIC SOUND, AND THE SOUND FROM THE PICK-UP SOUNDS MORE ELEC. THAN ACOUSTIC. NOT A GOOD CHOICE EITHER DIRECTION. I WANTED AN ACOUSTIC, SMALL & EASY TO TRANSPORT. STRATACOUSTIC DOES THAT JOB VERY WELL, BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE THE ACOUSTIC SOUND I WANTED FOR SOLO WORK OR VOCAL BACK -UP. IT IS WELL BUILT, PLAYS WELL, LOOKS NEAT & STAYS IN TUNE. IT IS GOOD FOR HOME PRACTICE. I GOT A EJ-200 TO REPLACE IT, I MAY BUY AN ACOUSTIC PICK-UP FOR THE EJ-200.
Features
SATISFACTORY, EXCEPT FOR THE SOUND.
Value
DON'T WANT ONE AT ANY PRICE.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor
IT LOOKS & PLAYS "GOOD" IT HAS EVERYTHING BUT THE SOUND I WANT.

"Weak Fender entry in the Electric Acoustic hybrid space"

Got this guitar as a church donation this weekend. Took it home to evaluate it and I am sorely disappointed by both it’s “acoustic” and electric tone. With the hard plastic Strat shaped body the acoustic tone is horrible- this is with new PB strings on too. It’s worse sounding then one of those thin bodied Ovation/Applause guitars! It may just be this particular axe that is a lemon, but there is a terrible static hiss that comes out when plugged in. This even with a new 9v battery installed.

it a nice instrument to have around.
Sound
you can compare it to an actual solid body electric...it's alittle flat when you play it without an amp(but it does do the trick), but when plugged in it's onboard eq allows you to play in a broad span of full, powerful sounds.
Features
the onboard eq. the cutaway on the body to allow ease of access to upper frets. the strap-knob input.
Quality
i've had mine for about 3 years. cracks developed where body and bridge meet but doesn't affect the strength or sound. tuff otherwise.
Value
i pay more for it a couple years ago then what you can get it for now and it's worth it.
The Wow Factor
it's inspiring to play. it's a new way to make a guitar. I can plug it in direct when recording on my digital and get a decent outcome.

Cool looking, but a horrible acoustic sound.
Sound
Sounds like, well, crap. It's very thin sounding. If you're looking for an acoustic sound, this is not the guitar you want. Put the money toward something else. A real acoustic in the same price range will sound a thousand times better.
Features
Has the features you'd expect of a guitar at this price. But I consider sound a pretty big feature in a guitar and, it's completely lacking for sound.
Quality
I think the plastic adds a lot to the weak sound.
Value
Definetly not even close to being worth the price.
Manufacturer Support
I've dealt with Fender before. They are fine. The musical support from this guitar, however, is nothing you want to deal with.
The Wow Factor
I wanted it for the looks, but "never just a book by it's cover" goes for this guitar. In case you can't figure that one out, never just a crappy acoustic by its looks.

I absolutely love this guitar. Not only does it look cool. It sounds good unplugged and great plugged in
Sound
This guitar sounds great when plugged in. It is not a true accoustic so you can't expect it to sound that good unplugged.Everyone always says the accoustic sound isn't that great but that's only when it's unplugged. I absolutuely love the amplified sound. It's beautiful. What do people expect from an unplugged guitar with such a thin body.
Features
Cool onboard EQ. The strings it comes with s@@k.
