"Amazing Bass"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Totally amazed with the D-5 quality, pickups, 3 band eq and amazing sustain. The guys in band band just can't get over what a difference it makes. Gonna try a set of coated strings to see how they sound/the pickups are so hot that you can hear the slide on those strings, especially on my Galien Kruger Backline 600 if the high and mids are boosted on the amp. Don't think twice just buy this bass, nothing else comes close in the price range !!

I bought this bass from zzounds four months ago on the pay as you play plan. Shipping was fast and prompt and took about 4 days if i remember correctly. Packaging was done right and the bass came blemish free and looks better in person the pictures do not do justice. the strings that came on are ok and play pretty well but i would definitely upgrade. this bass sounds great and you can really get some good sounds messing with the eq. the bass looks beautiful and i like to keep it clean and shine it up regularly with lemon oil and it really brings out the wood. this bass should be more expensive for what your getting. buy this bass you will not be disappointed. zZounds as always is the best company to go through for all your needs

I will keep this Bass forever and the only time I would buy another ESP is maybe a different color or a 4-string model to add to my collection.
Sound
Sounds awesome right out of the box! My Band was blown away with its tone and ground shaking low end. Nicely made and looks 3 times the price paid.
Features
Has Pewter like Low, Mid, High, Tone and Volume knobs which look great on the wood body.
Ease of Use
Makes anyone who plays bass sound better to me.
Quality
Its mint condition and looks road tough even though I wouldn't want to throw this baby around.
Value
100 percent yes.
Manufacturer Support
First time with zzounds.com and ESP Basses and both were great.
The Wow Factor
It caught my eye and I browse a lot before I purchase.

"ESP LTD D5 bass"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

zZounds did a nice job. They were price competitive and actually had the bass in stock. The bass was packed well and arrived as scheduled without incident. I've bought from zZounds before and been very happy with them. I'm pleased with the D5. I've played a 4-string bass on/off for quite a few years. I played a friends 5-string bass recently and thought it'd be fun to have one. I'm not an aggressive player, so I don't know how the D5 might stack up against other basses in, for example, professional situations. The D5 suits me just fine. I like the range of sounds and am still fascinated with the B string as an accent.

"BEST BASS FOR THE MONEY!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I bought this bass 2 days ago and it arrived the next day. I didn't even have to set it up it was all ready to go. Everything on the bass is flawless, not to mention the amount of growl it has. I played a 5 string Tobias deluxe that had a bolt on neck and it just had sooo many intonation issues. This bass has NO intonation problems whatsoever due to the string through body and set neck design. The wood is absolutely gorgeous so make sure to use a dab of lemon oil to polish it. I highly recommend this bass. It's going to match a full stack Ampeg Portaflex 800 in the next couple of weeks. If you want a high quality instrument, look no further!

"Great Bass for the money"

Purchased this bass as a blemished item at a great price. The bass came with the strings loosened for shipping. After tuning, the action was perfect. I could tell the bass would sound good when playing it even before I plugged it up. The bass with the two humbuckers sounds great for rock, funk, jazz, and general use. It has a single 9 volt battery, but still puts out a pretty good amount of headroom. Also, the neck is slick, and the spacing is better than an Ibanez or a Schecter (both I have owned before). It is not as good as my $1400 Carvin Bunny Brunel five string, but it is a very good bass for the money. It is a bass that is simular to something that might cost $800 or so. I will enjoy this bass for a long time. Great 5 String!

Darn good bass! I play country, clasic rock, and new rock! It has everything I need! Only thing I have noticed with it is if I D tune or tune two below standard, the B string seems to buzz! But otherwise a great bass!
