I have no idea what the other folks on here are talking about.... You get get what you pay for and there are good and bad foreign products. But this is worth 5 bills +. The craftsmanship isn't a 1950 Gibson but it has a nice tone and the pickup is true to the tone of the man-do.Only a couple of small things you need to address .......1.Who ever "sets up" the Mando needs to be taught how ( 4 Hrs to set it up right intonation was way off)2. The neck at the top is way to thin for my fat fingers...Other than that happy with my purchaseZzound always comes through for meThanks Guys and Gals

I returned this Mandolin. First, the workmanship was shoddy, especially around where the neck and fretboard connected to the body, and at the scroll. It looked as though the luthier just gave-up before it was finished. Rough cuts that should have been smoothed, splotchy stain, poor binding job around the neck. And on the head, a blunder with the drum sander that left a dark colored dent. The top had splinters missing around the edges, very small, but still, 3rd rate craftsmanship all around. Very difficult to play, it was almost impossible to fret at the first , and as I use 12s on my acoustic guitars, I don't think finger strength was the problem! Had I picked this instrument up in a store, I would never have even considered paying $499.00 for it. Very disappointing. But again, ZZ gets 6 Stars, for customer service on the return.

I only bought this because of the 8-payment option. Its definitely not worth the price. it looks like crap up close, it comes poorly set up, its just not that great. the pick up system is pretty cool but noisy and also not THAT great. Just dont bother buying this.

This is nothing on zZounds because I didn't buy mine from them. Was in a music store and made a hasty purchase. Have had it for a while and cannot get an acceptable tone out of it. Being a professional photographer I realize you get what you pay for. However, $700 you think would yield a decent product. It look very nice. Neck is really nice. Really Gibson should contact everyone who bought one of these and say "we want you to be happy." Like that's going to happen.

The setup out of the box is horrible. i usually do my own setups but this one was sub par. the neck at the headstock is very small. I do like the aged finish. The electronics are pretty nice. but just not what i was expecting for the cost.

I got one 2012 And it does look homemade but it's nice. It did play a little hard but I did a little set up and it plays very nice now you do have to tune it some times with the weather change but like I said it does play sweet.
