"Eminence BETA15 bass speaker"

I play chordal bass through a bass rig and guitar rig simultaneously. When developing the system and playing style I did an enormous amount of speaker research and always landed on Eminence. For the guitar side of the rig, rave reviews tempted me to try a number of different brand speakers but none matched the sound of the Eminence Legend 1058s; they just always had a sonic edge I couldn't beat so when it came to the bass side I compared again and STILL came up w/Eminence. The Beta15 is affordable, has a decent freq range, respectable/workable wattage and sounds great. Even compared to the other Eminence (Delta, Alpha, Kappa, LAB15) I like the Beta best. I run 2 from a Hartke 3500 in separate ported cabs. Plenty loud, way punchy, tight, lots of bright high end if I choose, and only 90 bucks. The Beta15 is my favorite bass speaker.

Musical Background:

Playing 54 years; 20 yrs. professionally.

Musical Style:

Freelanced rock, blues, country, folk, punk, standards, prog.

"Great sounding, versatile speakers"

I know the word versatile gets thrown around a lot when it comes to guitar-related items, but these speakers really can handle anything you throw at them. I got them to replace the blown speakers in my 60's Standel 100w 2x15 bass amp that I also use as a guitar amp, and they sound perfect for both the bass and guitar. They brought that amp back to life.

If some body was dumb enough to not take the whole cab and unscrew the speaker out, i would replace it, then again, my cab weighs 80 pounds, someone just might take the speaker out.
Sound
I got a Peavey Mark VI pushing this. I put it in my peavey 115 cab to replace the old sheffield speaker and I love its sound, really punches.
Features
ummm...its a speaker, magnet and cone included! yay
Ease of Use
you just wire it like any other speaker into a cabinet and screw it in, i guess if youve never done it before it would help if it came with some short directions.
Quality
I feel safe knowing its 300 watts of handling. I dont have to be stingy with the volume knob.
Value
Best deal in speakers, i thought about getting some used ones but this new one is only $10 more and free shipping from zzounds always helps.
Manufacturer Support
havent used it, doubt i will
The Wow Factor
mMMMMMmmm...its fine lookin

"Great Speaker!!"

I used to play on a GK goldline 115 with a neo 410 mix. Recently the bottom speaker gave out, and i took the whole thing apart, couldn' t find what was wrong. I bought this guy and its been fantastic. comes heavily protected, and easy to install, though, it would have helped to have some sort of diagram or instructions on how to install it!
