If you like quality sound, this is a GREAT speaker for guitar! I play jazz guitar and I like this speaker for jazz better than Celestrion or Seismic-Audio speakers. I highly recommend them for mid and low range roundness!

Overall.... a great purchase. I now have a great sounding SWR cab and have shelled out less than $300.00 dollars for the whole project. Zzounds had pretty much the same price as other retailers but the free shipping sealed the deal for me and I was very surprised when I got e-mails for both order confirmation and confirmation that they had shipped on the same day!! Thank you Zzounds!!
Sound
Through a local ad I picked up a SWR Bigfoot 2x12 that was kind of beat up but was structurally sound for $100.00 and when I got it home I quickly found out why it was so inexpensive! The previous owner had replaced the Bag End speakers with not just guitar speakers but CHEAP guitar speakers!! I'd used a friends SWR Bigfoot at rehearsals before so I knew that it was a good cabinet and worth the money I paid alone so i wasn't too upset. I wanted to bring it back to the original specs (500 watts/4 ohms) and found that the Emminence Betas would do just that so I picked up two and couldn't be happier. I'm no audiophile but to my ears they sound great. Nice bottom end with plenty of thrust. Please keep in mind that I play mostly classic rock and don't slap much so I really haven't pushed the higher end to it's limits but again, in my opinion, the clarity is excellent. I could have chosen more expensive , higher wattage speakers but my 350 watt Ampeg head would not have been able to drive them efficiently. For me their a 10.
Features
The only features I was concerned about here were the specs and being sure that they were a good match for my Ampeg B2R. Mission accomplished.
Ease of Use
This was the first time I'd ever changed speakers in a cabinet and the only challenge I had was due an issue with the cabinet. Very easy installation......even for me.
Quality
Emminence appears to have a great reputation and the speakers themselves look to be of excellent quality. I haven't had them long but as long as I don't abuse them I'm confident they will last.
Value
Not only did these speakers return the cab to it's original specs, but they were also among the most affordable 12" speakers that I was able to find. Great value!!

No past experience with Eminence but researched the heck out of replacing bass before I settled on these. From what I learned, Beta's should last many years and they were a breeze to swap out the existing speakers. All it took was a screwdriver and in ten minutes I was listening to great music.
Sound
Replaced bass in a set of Studio Monitor speakers connected to NAD amp. Superb sound: clear, crisp at any volume. Much depends on a quality amp so, if you're thinking upgrade, consider the whole package to get the most out of Eminence speakers.

bought this speaker after purchasing a cheaper speaker to upgrade a monitor cabinet. the cheaper speaker had a great appearance but was not pushing the db's. So I searched for a better alternative.. These Beta speakers are loud!!! and great for vocals.. They cover all frequencies perfectly.. The spec sheets do not lie.. I will be buying more
