Took a chance and ordered a pair of these on the internet and was pleasantly surprised. They are lightweight and easier to transport as advertised. Played two gigs before really getting a good opportunity to get used to them so the jury is still out on whether they are as good as my old Peavey SP-5 XTs. The amount of power has been impressive. I played two fairly large places and they handled it with no problem. People have commented on the smooth, balanced sound and clarity. I'm planning on using a new Sure Beta 58 mic with them so looking forward to seeing how it works out. I will definitely keep you posted. Very good sound for an affordable price. I'm sure the powered version is good but made more sense to just get the passive. Worth the investment if you are looking for something back friendly!

We bought a pair of these for our church to replace some older 15" JBLs. The smoothness and clarity are really superior in these speakers! For a pair of PA speakers they really are almost high end audiophile quality in sound! Excellent for the money...you could spend more for the same quality, but why would you? Go and listen to them up against your favorites and judge for yourself.

Was looking to replace a pair of well used, but very heavy passive speakers. Checked out a number of lightweight units, but until the EV ZLX, couldn't find one that my ears were happy with. Crystal clear sound, great presence, and no crane needed to mount on a speaker stand!! Rugged, versatile speakers (though I would recommend getting the padded covers; Always practice safe transportation!). My new favorite!!

The EV ZLX Passive speakers went to work on the same day. Very impressed with the quality of not only the cabinet but the power and clarity of the sound. Light and compact.....love it.
