As a sound guy first and foremost, I took a pair of the EV ETX15P's out for there maiden voyage last night. I would have to say I was extremely impressed with there preformance! I spent 30 seconds a speakers making sure that they were properly set using the carefully layed out controls. With this I have only one word, WOW! I had a group of about 200 woman and these speakers cut right through the crowd all the way to the back of the room. These are some of the best speakers I have worked with in the 10 years of doing sound. My only regret is that I didn't buy these speakers sooner! Being EV I know that they will last for years to come!

These speakers are as advertised. The on board DSP is a great feature. They are very clear at high volumes and look very nice. The build quality is exceptional and did I mention they sound awesome?! The only drawback would be the weight. Just over 70 pounds is kind of a pain to lift these onto stands alone. Not impossible but challenging. Not to mention after a long gig, being tired and all, the weight can seem like an impossible task to lift and kinda scary is you loose your grip and drop your 1200.00 speaker! Easy solution would be to by a powered speaker stand lift like I did. I got the frankenstands and the make this speakers only drawback - non-issue. Plus the pay as play plan is awesome! Makes gear that was a 5 gig wait, an 0 gig wait and you have your gear withing a few days on a zero interest payment plan. It's a no brainier. I'll definately recommend these speakers and zzounds to all my friends

Well, I got these speakers after owning a pair of Rockville speakers. It’s almost laughable trying to compare the two the Rockville was so bad glad I made an upgrade . When you buy this speaker you are paying for a sonic signature that is second to none. These speakers are so clear, every frequency is well represented and as a producer I would be comfortable using these flat as monitors that’s just how clear they are. With that being said, I love bass, too much even. Therin lies one of my two gripes about this speaker. It’s rich in sound but doesn’t have that lower end as bright as I would want it. Personally I will be returning this speaker for the JBL SRX815p for the lower end response. The JBL on account of my reaserach isn’t as clear of a speaker compared to the EV you will need to adjust some frequencies out of the box to get it just right, however that is an expense I would be will to take because they have extensive dsp controls via an external mobile device such as a phone, tablet, or computer. Lastly my other complaint is the headroom, these do limit a lot faster than expected (especially if you add in the lower end). That’s not to say they aren’t loud, they could easily handle a large hall. I just was a little surprised, I called a rep and was told these go hit 500 watts rms which is a lot less than I expected but hey what can you do. Bottom line is, the speaker is loud and efficient at giving a true representation of what is being played, they lack that wow bass factor but I assume this is by design because they are meant to be paired with subs, and are maybe too efficient at protecting themselves from harsh usage again I assume this by design because you don’t want to blow a $1300 speaker. Great for Djing preferably with subs, great for live sound although I don’t know how they compare with the Yamaha’s so that is up for debate, for a killer home theater setup these days will definitely get the job done exceedingly so at that. I hate to say it but you can’t go wrong you really have to get picky to find anything wrong with them, solid build quality, built in dsp and an unmatched sonic singnature.

These blow all others in their range away in clarity, warmth, crispness without any harshness at high volumes, and I mean they GET LOUD. Better than JBL SRX and QSC KW. Just an amazing sounding speaker. I use them for mains in our rock band. Vocals are spectacular as is everything we mix through them and that IS everything.

"EV speakers"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

EV is the premier bass speaker for more than 30 years. I built cabinets using 3/4 inch birch plywood boxes. I had to glue 3/4 inch particle board to the inside of the box due to the amount of bass that these speakers are capable of putting out. Amazing bass and have never heard any that come close. my spkrs are sp15's..
