It arrived today from zZounds, and I plugged it in and played through it for a couple of hours, and it totally blew my mind. Then I went and took a nap, got up and played through it, and it totally blew my mind all over again. The potential of it is almost unimaginable! Not only can you get most of the great synthesizer sounds of the '80s, but by using the dry volume knob, you can crank up your guitar sound, and use the synth volume to bleed in the effect, leaving it more in the background, and by doing so you can create a plethora of sounds previously in-obtainable in any effect box ever! This thing sparks the imagination as much as going out on your first date! A lot of times products don't live up to the hype of what they are advertised to be. It's just the opposite in this case. It's so much more than what the advertisements make it out to be! Electro Harmonix has always been an innovator for as long as I can remember, but they knocked it clean out of the park with this baby! It not only turns your guitar into a synthesizer, but it doubles as one of the coolest guitar effects pedals ever!

If it wasn't for its somewhat limited number of synth sounds, I'd give this pedal a 5 star rating because the sounds available are pretty cool. It beats having to install special pickups on your axe. If only EHX would eventually support USB connectivity to download new presets, this pedal would be set for the future.

Love this pedal and it's phenonemal sound and capabilities!!! There is ONLY ONE THING that is truly needed (MUST) to make this truly viable and invaluable for live use: Programmable presetting and a toggle foot-switch between presets in order to switch patches on the fly on stage. Make that improvement, and this pedal will be as popular and invaluable as the Mini Moog was in it's day!! LOVE THE SOUNDS!!! I am VERY interested in purchasing one, WHEN it comes with programmable preset and pre-set selector!

This is a PHENOMENAL guitar pedal!!! The patches available are so highly useful and desirable. To play these synth parts on guitar with no latency or mis-tracking (as with guitar synth systems). The ONLY MAJOR FLAW: It is not programmable to save and switch synths/patches live/on the fly. In a studio recording session -- no issues. Live performance application: No one is going to be turning knobs and tweaking on stage. It simply needs a "new and improved" version that adds a Patch Settings/Save & Patch Select buttons and it would be THE pedal to own!!! I want it, but I MUST HAVE Patch Save and Selector button for live performance!
