ive been using these beaters for almost a month now,and i can say its one of my best buys. i have been to hundreds of music stores looking for these and wasnt happy with the prices. mainly, if you play heavy/speed metal, and you wanna beater that will last, has unique sounds with a minor adjustment, and you wanna start an earth quake, then stop reading this and buy them! they look pretty cool too.

"DW Does It Again!!!"

I already have backups in packages. I will never use another beater!!
Sound
An absolutely genious design. Soft foam for a felt beater sound without that ugly rattle you get with a plastic or wood beater yet when you kick hard, you get the click of a wood or plastic beater from the aluminum insert. great for metal or jazz. I own 2 sets!!!
Features
comes with allen screws and extra beater weights, which helps, because it takes a while to get used to how light the beater is due to it being aluminum and foam.
Quality
It's DW!
Value
A little pricy, but still, well worth the money!!
Manufacturer Support
I had these on backorder for months, but it was well worth it!
The Wow Factor
It is anodized red and black, the sexiest colors on the market!

"Killer sounding beater, good for versatile music."

keep it till it wears out
Sound
This thing made my kick sound killer - the foam rubber sounds thick against the batter head. The hard center really clicks when you hammer it and you still have the nice sound of the foam to round it out. Lots of surface contact makes this beater sound fat. If you play a range of music in one set, soft and hard, this is the beater for you.
Features
High quiality and Lightweight with adjustable ballast weights.
Quality
I bought two, one was missing a setscrew ;(
Value
worth it for sure
The Wow Factor
Looks cool, red anodized aluminum, but who really cares?

"Perfect for new school techniques"

Sound
I use this on my 9000 single pedal. I play 18" and 22" kick drums. Especially on the small drum, a traditional beat is always too heavy or too light. This one has the perfect balance. When adjusted properly, this beater is the best of all worlds for me. Soft hits get are solid, with less attack and beefy low end. Hard attacks slam and have the added stability of the foam around the core. Also, I find the
Features
I'd like to see an option to adjust the angle of the beater head. If not for that, it'd be a 10.
Ease of Use
I'd prefer the foam adjustment was a drum key, not a tiny wrench (not included btw! What is up DW??) And, yes it's obvious how to adjust...sort of. But couldn't they put pictures on the package for dummies? They're selling to drummers after all!
Quality
It's DW.
Value
You pay more for DW. Mostly, it's worth it.

"Nice idea-bad product-wears out too quickly-does not hit the head flat & no swivel adjustment-"

I don't recommend it. DW problem child. This won't last
Sound
Sound is OK at first...read on.
Features
This looks like a great idea on the surface BUT I found it to wear out quickly. Once the foam is gone all the features are gone to. Also the head does not swivel so it doesn't hit flat against the drum which makes it wear out even quicker and I don't even play hard. Lame.....
Quality
Well made but wears out very quickly. Foam leaves nasty sticky goo on drum head.
Value
if it wears out so quickly, what good is it?
Manufacturer Support
good company-bad product
The Wow Factor
looks good on paper only. nice idea but it needs work.

"Not the best DW product at all......"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
try it out. don't listen to me. definitely for a person with a light foot!!
Sound
sound was alright. varies depending on setting.
Features
used it a couple times and had to keep adjusting them. the foam keeps wanting to move back..... the Allen's don't do very good at holding it in place. i had to use 2 weights per beater: 1 set up high and one a little lower to get the feel on the pedals...... (they are extremely light!!!)
Ease of Use
read features
Quality
It's a DW product that doesn't feel like a DW product.
Value
a little pricey
Manufacturer Support
Almost everything is DW on my kit... they rule. bad product
The Wow Factor
looks great...... but, looks aren't what you hear?!
