Brought it home, removed the strings, cleaned the fretboard and dabbed on a bit of linseed oil and then worked on tightening the truss rod to remove the neck bow. Six hours later added new strings then fine tuned the bridge. Really surprised at how it sounded, really playable starter bass. Pretty versatile selection of tones, decent all around bass, although not ideal for anything thumb-slapping or funk style playing. Despite it's totally-eighties appearance, it's a decent starter bass.
Sound
Sound quality is pretty decent for a bass at this price point. Somewhat lacking of clear top end but it's suitable for any conventional Precision-like bass tone and is a decent full-range humbucker. Tone control is not an incredibly versatile circuit, but still is very usable.
Features
Surprisingly quiet for the quality of the components. Was not dazzled by the quality of the tuners, but the pickup is better than I expected. Bridge is solid and not flimsy but the tone circuit is extremely limited though not unusable. It sounds quite good for an entry-level instrument.
Ease of Use
The bass is relatively neck-heavy and the star-shaped/pseudo-Explorer body makes for a little awkwardness playing sitting down. Smooth neck and extremely playable, although it's on the thick side.
Quality
Decent quality for an entry level instrument and appears to be pretty durable, but the truss rod was a little difficult to adjust, possibly due to neglect.
Value
It runs about $200 online shipped and it compares favorably with other instruments in this price range, such as the Squier Fender line

maybe keep it for another year, after a while you grow out of it.

VERY GOOD, PUNCHY TONE! The soapbar pickup is perfect

Mine came with a cord, and allen wrenches, the bas comes with 2 knobs, one is for volume and the other really does nothing., very neck heavy

very easy, set up right out of the box, all you gotta do is tune.

very well made guitar, dropped it a few times, its built like a tank

good for begginers or anyone on a budget
