I bought this Bass about a month ago. I am a guitar player but have also played bass professionally for several years, and have done many hours of studio time on the bass. I have owned Rickenbacker basses, fender basses, and Ibanez. Due to recent illness and divorce I had to sell my stuff. I was asked to play bass for my friends band so after lots of study, I decided on the Dean Hillsboro. I have never been a huge Dean fan but this bass truly rocks. The intonation was perfect right out of the box. The active EQ's are really sensitive. This bass sounds a like a Music Man, a Rickenbacker, and Fender. You can get any tone. It has an awesome jazz tone. I play alot of slap and pluck, and it rocks. It made me sound so good. For the money you can't beat it. It stays in tune, and sounds like a much more expensive Bass. If you are thinking about buying it "Do It" Also I love ZZ sounds pay as you play. It allows us to get some decent equipt.
