"It Sure Switches ... a Little too Much!"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm not happy with the switches on this. I will probably not try a replacement and will instead purchase a powered pedal with "soft" switches instead of mechanical switches. Mechanical switches may start out fine but will likely wear over time causing the same kind of problem I'm seeing now.
Sound
Just a footswitch, it doesn't make much sound ... only a little click when you press a switch.
Features
Like the description, it's the standard footswitch used with most Digetech equipment. It has three pedals allowing you to do three things using a standard 1/4" stereo cable (one is included). It doesn't require any power source which is nice. It has a steel housing and what looks to be sturdy switches.
Ease of Use
It is extremely straightforward but I feel that even the most straightforward gadget deserves at least a single-page manual. This footswitch does not come with one.
Quality
I was very disappointed because I would often get "double switches" when pushing the switches. I use this pedal for an effects module. It cycles through the programs - either up or down. When I click the up or down switch once, it will often jump two programs. This is called "bounce" and is usually associated with poor mechanical switching or worn contacts. It was like this right out of the box.
Value
It's really just three switches in a metal housing and a stereo cable. However, those switches keep my hands free for playing while I change programs which is something I think I'm really going to like. I'm admittedly cheap. Assuming I just got the one lemon of the bunch, I would say that the price is competitive with the competition and you get one more switch to play with.
Manufacturer Support
I emailed them about the problem and received a response within bout four business days. That's not too bad. Their response was more or less that it shouldn't be doing what it's doing so perhaps it's a manufacturing defect.
The Wow Factor
I would have rated it higher if mine worked. I'm a musician and like a lot of musicians, I find it nice to be able to keep my hands free both while I play and between songs. This pedal (and those like it) will allow me to change channels during a song and between songs without having to climb over people to reach my rig.
