When i first bought these...i was always a lil concearn to feel of torque on the platter...again i'm coming off from using technics 1200's turntables so its pretty hard to compare.....but when i got em...i was blown away how great they feel the torque the response on the vinyl.....they are really great and feel pretty identical to 1200's!!! Highly recomended!!!!! Midi mapping is a awesome on it if u use serato (thats what i use can't relate to traktor)..... it helps get rid of dicers or n e other midi controller u use previous before. The nice thing is the whole layout is midi mapableso its nice to have alot of buttons to map out how u would like ur controll points!!! But all great things must have a lil downfall.....lol..... after using it for one month on a weekly base one of the denons (i own 2) just didn't power on...kinda odd..... i take really good kare of it n its protected by a coffin n all..... so i was a lil bummed out....but i contacted denon and they had me ship it back to them and had it back to me with in a week so customer service with denon was pretty steller n fast! The other down fall is the cue buttons....they are awesome for what they do....but i do notice that when u tap one from a certain angle or side it does not trigger the cue u trying to hit..... almost kinda like how peps where talking previously about the play button being rubber from the previous 3700. So i figured when the cue totally fails i'll send it in for repair because i use it on a weekly bases. But overall....the cdj exceeds my expectations from what i was extpecting.....i was scared it was gonna be like the numark ns7 for feel and they are nothing like it.....way better!!! Conclusion.... is i highly recommend these cdj's!!! I've used pioneer, numark, and technics slz1200 n actual turntables and these are absolutely awesome! Great Job Denon! U just won me over pioneer for cdj's!!! :)

This is an awesome player, I love the versatility, you can go from your DJ software to USB to CD in the same set. being able to link both devices with an Ethernet cable to share one USB drive, it terrific, no need to carry a lot of stuff, and makes you gigs way more reliable that you will always have something to play, even if your computer crashes. I was able to unbox both and plug and play in minutes. Simply a great product! Thank you Denon!

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Denon has stepped up their game with this one. It is by far their best player. Love the rotating platter and versatility of the SC3900. You can play CDs, from a flash drive or hard drive and laptop plus switch between either with ease. I bought the SC3900 for it's rotating platter. I miss spinning with the 1200s and this is the next best thing, in fact better.
Sound
The sound is top notch. Denon is known for great sound quality. I use audiophile quality cables (XLO, Audioquest, etc.) for best results. Comprehensive XHD High Definition rca cable is a good inexpensive choice, $12.99 for 3ft pair. It is far better than the red and white rca tbat comes with the unit.
Features
It is full of great features. You can use it as a controller with any DJ software, play from flash or hard drives or just play CDs. The Engine software is awesome. It lets you control and arrange your library plus you can control it via an IPad wirelessly.
Ease of Use
It is very easy to use and figure out.
Quality
It is built to last.
Value
Considering all it does plus the great sound and build quality, it is the best value out there. You can get a pair of SC3900 or SC2900 for the price of one CDJ2000.
Manufacturer Support
Have not needed to call support.
The Wow Factor
The SC3900 looks sharp.

Best media player for anyone transitioning from vinyl turntables to cd/media. The spinning platter has an amazing feel just like the 1200s. A lot of youtube videos shows djs using these for scratching but these are amazing for mixing as well. I have caught myself back cueing with the platter like it was a 1200 so this is the most versatile media player out there period. Just angry at myself for not getting it sooner.

I was a hip-hop/scratch DJ 30 years ago and decided to get back into it for fun. I tried a controller but didn't like the feel of the jog wheels, I tried Audio-Technica AT-LP120 turntables, those were darn near impossible to set up with my Rane SL2 box because there is no way to ground them to reduce noise. I was about to give up when I stumbled upon these. The Denon's feel like the Techniques SL1200's I had 30 years ago but with the convenience of today's technology. It took me all of 5 minutes to map them to my SL2 software and off I go. They allow me to scratch like I did back in the day. The only issue I have (and probably user error), is mapping the cue points on Serato tracks to the cue buttons on the unit. I can't seem to get them to work out very well for me. It seems to work better when I "cue" the Serato keyboard short cuts. Overall, this is a great product.

Love it! There's nothing else to say. I fell in love with Denon DNS5000, and thought this was the greatest CD player around. Well Denon raised the bar with the SC3900
