I have owned several semi-hollow bodies and this just blew me away. Workmanship is impeccable, out of the box sweet, and extremely playable. I took it into the best handmade guitar shop in Minneapolis for a setup and they even said wow. Don't let the Korean made part dampen you any. My Gretsch doesn't come close in tone and sound output. And frankly - this is just about the most gorgeous looking guitar I have ever seen - the pictures do it no justice whatsoever. And zZounds was super to work with. This was the first time I have ordered a guitar online, but I had spent months searching for and playing D'Angelico's locally so I knew I had to eventually have one of these. The payment plan from zZounds made that possible sooner and the speed and care they took in getting this to me was great. Know semi-hollows aren't for everyone, but if they have a place in your player heart, this one you have got to have.

Saw the whole D'Angelico line at the NAMM Show this January and could not believe the quality of these reproductions of Mr. D'Angelico's designs. I have owned a 1975 Gibson ES-345 and this guitar is prettier with more inlay and great wood grain patterns, Love the art deco touches. Plays great with stock .10 strings easily bending Chords voice beautifully open or barred.I tried .09 strings and got a bass string buzz. Went back to .10s and all good. Neck is like an Es Gibson or my memory is failing. You will love the tone from the Kent Armstrong pickups though I note that the New York city custom models have Seymore Duncans...(for only around $18,000 more...This is the real deal. Thanks zZounds for making it possible! Have not needed factory support. Case is good and setup including pickup height is perfect...
