A stunning guitar that turns heads and is a joy to play. Quality dinged 1 star for some very minor finish flaws (almost invisible except to the obsessive eye of love). Interaction with D'Angelico was great, as was purchase from zZounds (wouldn't be playing this guitar if it wasn't for their Play as You Pay plan). Details and bling are excellent, but the playablity and sound are what really count. Neck is a modified C profile, a little different from another EXSS I played before ordering this one - it was a pleasant surprise. Just played it before an audience last night for the first time - completely hassle-free and adaptable to house sound system, numerous comments from audience on quality of sound. A keeper (although if I can ever afford one of the new hand-made D'Angelicos, I'm there).

Overall a nice jazz box for a good price. Sounds authentic, plays pretty good--I love the rhythm pickup--not in love with the treble pickup butit's ok. I only bought it play jazz. Better with flat wound strings. My only complaint with lower action -- Lots of buzzes. Tightened up loose hardware--switch-plate--pickguard plate-pickup covers-still the pickup selector switch causes buzzing on many notes. There is something inside the switch doing this--I will be calling zounds for repair/replacement of the switch. I often practice un-amplified so switch buzzing is annoying. I will be calling zounds to straighten this out. Otherwise am happy with the guitar and good deal for the money.
