This is my second Cascade mic. I also own a FAT HEAD 2 with upgrade. I don't claim to be an engineering genius . However, I do know what sounds great and doesn't . Each of the Cascade MICS are absolutely fantastic!!! I'm running each mic with a CLOUDLIFTER and I am 100 percent satisfied!! If you are a musician venturing into recording your work; a Cascade mic simply cannot be out performed for the money. It's the best " bang for the buck " product " I have ever purchased. If you any question answered about any product sold by Cascade, call or email the Olympia Washington office and they will do whatever it takes to answer your questions in a very informed and polite manner. To back up what I have written, I just ordered an Elroy Tube Mic by Cascade.

"Great all-round ribbon mic"
I bought this for male vocals and electric guitar, and I am happy with it. Love the natural sound of ribbon -- once you get used to it, dynamics sound clunky and condenser sounds contrived. It is warm sounding in that it doesn't make your voice pop out of mix on its own, but it's not muffled sounding like smaller ribbons either.
