Whether you're trying to dial in a wet surf rock reverb or an ambient shoegaze tone with lots of atmosphere, this pedal can do it all. This is hands down the best pedal I've ever purchased and far surpasses any other reverb pedal I've heard. You can even tweaked it to make it sound like a proper spring reverb unit on an old fender amp. There's also a handy shimmer effect you can use to get some angelic and synth-like tones, which can sound monolithic accompanied with a fuzz. I'd recommend this pedal for any style of playing, as it's one of the most versatile ones on the market right now. Also since it's Boss it's built like an absolute tank. Need quality slap back, surf, or shoegaze type reverb? This is the unit for you.

I've accumulated several (well, in my modest collection) Boss pedals over the past few years, and I'm convinced there isn't really any other brand I would want to rely on for my sound sculpting needs.. and this pedal is no different. Built like tanks, built to last many lifetimes over, and they just sound great. And for the price, I doubt you could find a better sounding digital reverb with this many options.

This is a fantastic reverb pedal. In this day and age with soooo many boutique pedal makers offering such a variety of options it's easy to think of BOSS as the "boring industry standard" Don't do that. I needed something specifically for warm deep pad sounds in church worship playing. My budget is out of the realm of a blue sky/big sky/eventide, but this thing can do exactly what I need. I use the shimmer and modulate settings primarily but this is a complex and big sounding reverb in any of the settings. When using shimmer I turn the tone to the left to get the sound I need. Turned the right I find that the higher octave algorithms sound too metallic & digital. I'm super happy with my purchase.

The only reason I decided to get this pedal was for the new shimmer mode because i wanted to add more to swells. The Shimmer blends beautifully when dialed correctly or it will sound really sharp-ish. The dynamic mode is really interesting cause it automatically adjust to the style you play (soft or hard picking) the delay mode is more to be desired but i guess it could get you by if you don't have one. It's no true bypass so it does color your tone a hint if you don't run it through a effects loop. If you use a battery, it will mute everything before it if it dies. This is a really versatile reverb pedal and is perfect for its time.
