i overall rate it the best thing on the market aside from midi- synth processesers!
Sound
the boss's sound and response is not like any other! i have tried every effects box out there in the last 8 yrs. and this one far exceeds any of them! the e-z tones are great and user friendly- i rate from 1-10 i give it an 11!
Features
the only features i wish it had was more midi-sounding instruments- like the "sax" sound which i use often-- but then again it would cost 4x's as much

it with stands alot of pounding on- i think it will last as long as i want it to

it is a little steep at its face value- but when you get it home, you realize you would have paid anything for it!

"Boss GT6"
Just met a guitarist who had the same processor. We both went to the same conclusion, it's an amazing guitar processor. I bought mine when it was released, about 15 years ago. Lots of sub menus give you the possibility to create just about any sound you like. I had a few minor problems that I could easily fix. I had to replace the volume pot. I also interchanged input and output jacks with external send return that I don't need. It's probably me. I don't take the time to unplug my jacks. I would suggest that you do so at every session.

I've been playing guitar for 53 years. I play in two bands. Home, jams, night clubs, events, etc.
Musical Style:
I play in two bands. Both do classic rock covers. At home, I'm more into fusion jazz-rock.

"Top Notch Gear"
I expect at least 6-8 years out or this prosessor at least.

Full Marshall Stack amp model, great jazz lead, awesome bluse lead,sound great. must own for serious players.

it has close to, if not, 400 effects. yeah so i can get the sound i want...sometimes iwish i could get a certain sound, but there was no effect..so i made one

i wish it was easier to program a custom bank, which i'm sure you can, but i cant figure it out yet
i wish the manuel was a little more descriptive

the product, i have to say is the best or one of the best out there of its kind. its really sturdy, and its made out of metal

I think it's good and works as it schould

I'm not that faschinated by the distorsion it sounds like a bumbelbee in a metalcan, but when you have it clean and have the distorsion by a stomp or in a amp it sound pretty good

You could do almost anything.. i don't miss anything

"GT-6: Operation Sound Great"
I have had this for over a year and I still love it. I've used it for Christmas presentations and mainly use it for recording. Sound as awesome live as in the "studio"(I don't really play in a studio).
Sound
I run a acoustic Seagull C-6 witha L.R. Baggs soundhole humbucking pickup and it gets very decent sound through that(I haven't tested it but I think it would sound just plain awesome with a good electric guitar).
Features
Has tons of effects but not enough pedals to use them all. I obviusly didn't expect it to but I wish there was some way to toggle effects to different pedals.
Quality
I don't think you could drop this and get away with it(you just might get away with it)but it is made very well.

I was about to by about $200 worth of single pedals and I came across this. All the effects I was going to buy and so, so much more.

Very interest variabletic sound, but sometimes in some effects i hear a transistor-processor (digital) noise. This is a tipical digital signal noise, you find this in all today's elctrical machine...

I own both the GT 5 and GT 6, i will never trade out either of them they are far more the best out in the market. All the effects you can choose from and mix is awesome.
