Sound
Digital clarity and intuitive features make recording a complete CD pretty painless. I used the BR1600 to do my first, but downsized to the BR1200 following my divorce. I love the programmable REAL drums - patterns make coposing a breeze.
Features
It came with power cord, manual.
Ease of Use
Learning curve is a little involved, but reading the manual is easy.
Quality
Mine was a factory demo...arrived solid as a rock.
Manufacturer Support
I dealt previously with BOSS for my BR1600CD...they were helpful.
The Wow Factor

"Great product for demos and having fun with."

I'll keep this for a long time. Great for demos. If it was stolen I'd have to move up to the 1600, because I don't think they make it anymore.
Sound
The sound is good for an all-in-one product like this.
Features
It has drum tracks, but could use much more. Has reverb, doubling or chorus for effects. Also has guitar, bass and mic cosm effects which are very good.
Quality
Had it a couple of years with no problems at all.
Value
For the $ can't beat it.
Manufacturer Support
Had to call once, got my answer, it worked.
The Wow Factor
For the small recording projects I do, this is perfect for me.

"Good sturdy machine for the home recording guy...."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
The only draw back is inputs. Even two ore inputs would work wonders. The sound quality, editing, and even the basic recording wothout really digging into it is good. Hoew good? Check out my page. everything you hear was done on this machine... in my bedroom. www.myspace.com/2bitter2bsweet If you like the quality...thank the Bossbr1200cd. If the lvels are a little low its because of me... not the machine. I'd buy it again...great for small home projects.... and solo artists. Check out the page... it rocks. THANKS BOSS !!!
Sound
The overall end product sounds just fine. The guitar effects, vocal effects, input effects are very nice.Being able to burn everything on a cd after you record it really rocks. Nice easy to use feature.
Features
A punch in an dout pedal would have been nice. The power chord supplied with it worked just fine. :o)
Ease of Use
Easier than some. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed and I figured it out.
Quality
Been using it for 2 years and never even a glitch.
Value
about 100 bucks too much...
Manufacturer Support
never had to call.
The Wow Factor
Looks killer.

LIKE I SAID THIS IS THE BEST PRODUCT I EVER USED FOR QUIK,EASY,FUN HOME OR ON THE GO PRODUCING,AND I WILL CONTINUE TO USE IT FOR YEARS TO COME.(UNTIL THEY DROP THE NEW BR-1200)
Sound
ONE WORD,ADDICTING. I FIND MYSELF SO EAGER TO WAKE UP AND RUN THROUGH ALL THE VARIOUS EFFECTS,BACKED BY INSANE 24 BIT SOUND RESOLUTION!CLEARLY KNOCKS THE CRAP OUT OF THE ROLAND MV-880. SO MUCH EASIER TO FIND THE RIGHT SOUND,AMAZING EQ-TUNING,WHICH GIVES ANY MUSICIAN THE RIGHT SOUND WITH THE RIGHT EAR.I AM GLAD TO SAY,I USE NO OTHER COMPONENTS WITH THIS MACHINE,EXCEPT A BOSS DR.RYTHIM DRUM PAD,FOR HIP HOP BEATS ONLY..BOSS IS MY ONLY CHOICE WHEN DEALING WITH THE SOUNDS AND QUALITY OF PRODUCING.
Features
I LOVE EFFECTS,AND THE BR-1200 IS LOADED WITH THEM.YOU CAN SIMPLY USE A $50 DOLLAR MIC,AND PLUG IT IN TO THE GUITAR INPUT AND MAKE YOUR VOICE SOUND LIKE YOU MIXED IT DOWN ON PRO-TOOLS!AND JUST THE CHORUS,REVERB,AND VOCAL TOOL KIT IS SO SIMPLE TO USE,AND ONCE AGAIN ADDICTING.ANYONE WHO HAS OR IS GOING TO GET THIS MACHINE IS DEFINATELY GOING TO FEEL WHAT I AM SAYING!
Quality
JUST PLUG IN YA MIC,QUE UP YA BEATS,AND BAM,YOU CAN HAVE A MILLION DOLLAR HIT!IF YOU ARE SMART,AND KNOW HOW TO WING IT,YOU CAN EASILY MAKE IT BIG WITH THIS MACHINE!HATTS OFFFFFFFF!

"Made for guiatists"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
The lack of input just makes to much of a problem for me, i can't really rate it high, because i intended to use it to record songs, not just riffs. the problem is that it is built for guitarists to make demo's on, the moment it comes to something real, with drums, you may as well rent out something else, cause it can't handle it. There aren't enough editing options, i would recommend a similar priced product with more inputs over drum sounds a cool effects.
Sound
This product is great for any guitarist or bassist just wanting to lay down a track or something. It Has great inbuilt effect that are really handy, but some of them do have an annoying amount of feedback, which can get quite annoying
Features
The in built drum is very handy, much easier to record to then a metronome
Ease of Use
took a bit of getting used to, and the manual doesnt always make sense, but its deffinately quite easy to use, but the simplicity unfortunately does limit you a bit, as you can add effect over the top of something once it's recorded except for delay reverb etc. which makes for a bit of hassel on the mastering end
Quality
Made beautifully, not a problem with it apart from a bit of freezing sometimes, but thats probably just mine
Value
unfortunately, this isnt enough for what you pay, especially with the new price rise. No matter what you do you are very limited, i can understand how it could be fantastic if its just you, playing guitar into it, but the lack of inputs really does not make it worth it
Manufacturer Support
haven't had to contact them
The Wow Factor
It deffinately appealing, the videos say it all, its so simple and effective

"I love it."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
It has studio quality sound, and it has never sounded bad to me.
Features
From COSM to drum tracks, this has everything.
Ease of Use
It's kind of complicated at first, but you can get the hang of it relatively simply.
Quality
Nothing has happened to it in the years I've used it, and I've left it lying on the ground for weeks at a time.
Value
Coudln't ask for something better at the price it cost.
Manufacturer Support
They have helped me solve all of my problems.
The Wow Factor
There are more unique things now, but for when it was made, this is very good.

"Unless you have songs in the top 40--this is all the recorder you probably need!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I plan on this one lasting a long time. I got it for my own fun, and for doing a little recording with some friends. It is much more than fine for what we want to do with it.
Sound
I've had the unit about a week now. Play back quality depends a lot on the phones or the amp you are listening to it on. I have some really good Bose noise canceling head phones and the sound production is crystal clear and the effects sound great!
Features
Comes with a power cord, manual, and drums back up CD, but the system is so complete, you don't need much else.
Quality
Too early to tell on longevity, but the initall take on this recorder is that it is high quality. The manual stresses that it is a delicate machine and it must be treated somewhat like fine china. Don't drop it, don't put it close to loud amps or speakers, don't bump it while using it, etc. The reality probably is that you treat it like you would your lap top, and you'll be just fine.
Value
For the money, I haven't seen anything that compares in quality and value to this unit. I have been looking at recorders for about 3 years now, trying to make up my mind. This one is like the "baby bear" in Goldilocks. "It's just right!"
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to go to the parent company. The dealer was very thorough and helpful though.
The Wow Factor
This is a sexy looking little recorder. Has nice back lighting and coloring. The display screen is a little small and I have to have my reading glasses on to read the small print, but I got it for recording, not for it's fancy looks. However, it is a nice bonus that it's pleasing to look at.
