"Excellent product at an excellent price!"

(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Our band is buying four more Behringer 15" speakers and one more Behringer power mixer. I love this stuff! Very 21st century! Like I said, very light, very bright, and very modern. Love it, will be playing with this new p.a. Friday night and enjoying it!
Sound
I'm playing a larger room with about 150 people. When we fired the new mixer up, we weren't able to push it beyond three on both channels. This guy has good power and I'd be curious to see how loud it got at halfway! Excellent effects and the tone is very crisp and clean. We love it!
Features
This mixer is so feature loaded I could throw up! Three tone controls on each channel, multiple effects available, two power amps programmable as stereo or main and monitors.
Ease of Use
Very easy to zoom in on good vocal eq's on the channels for the mic's. We kept everything fairly flat and great tone. Easy to hook up and use. PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST ORDER SPEAKON CABLES BECAUSE THE SPEAKER OUTS ARE SPEAKON ONLY!
Quality
Brushed aluminum, well silk screened numbers on the controls, I owned Carvin and Mackie before but this is just as nice to my ears and eyes.
Value
I looked at many different powered mixers. This one is the sweet spot of value and quality. I will buy a second smaller version for monitor use.
Manufacturer Support
Stuff works fine hope I don't need to use them!
The Wow Factor
The mixer is bright, very techno looking and has a cool large Beringer logo on back. It has nice blue lights on front and cool lights for the two channel power amps that pulse with the music. These people really know how to put this stuff together! What a change from my old Carvin and Mackie boards.

"Powerful and great sounding..."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
More than satisfied with the product, and plan on using it until it melts!
Sound
Good sound quality, more than adequate for rehearsal and small to medium venues. Can even be used with a mic'd drum kit if your speakers are able to handle it. Have used it with pre-recorded music and live bands and it sounds great. The only way to get a better sound would be to go with a high-end bi- or tri-amped system with a subwoofer.
Features
Tone controls on each channel and a graphic EQ on each of the main/mon or left/right outs provides a lot of versatility in shaping sound to a room. Fairly good in/out options for sending to and receiving from external amps, mixers, etc. One minor quibble: no pan control on the channels...not necessary for my purposes but weird that they wouldn't include it on a stereo mixer. The built in effects are not the most versatile but enough variations are provided to account for most any situation as far as reverb, chorus, etc.
Quality
Good quality construction. I have been using this as a rehearsal mixer for several months and also occasionally as a recording mixer. It has never let me down.
Value
Great value for the money. More powerful and versatile than comparable products costing more.
Manufacturer Support
Have never had to deal with the company directly other than to register the product for warranty purposes, which I did over the Internet in about 3 minutes.
The Wow Factor
Unless you are really into little knobs and sliders, I can't think of any reason to bring up the term "sex appeal". This is a good, well made, great sounding powered mixer.

"Good sounding good looking product."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I expect to keep and us this product for many years, and pass it on or sell it when I am through with it. I am 68 years young.
Sound
There are too many voices to select from on effects. Havn't decited on which one to use. I have used it for the last few weeks playing at nursing homes in the area. I and my band members like it very much. I use it with two 60 watt Kustom speakers. Got to watch the volumn, could blow those speakers if I am not carefull. It gives us enough volume to fill the places we play. Okie07
Features
I had a four channel Kustom before. I like the idea of having 9 mike inputs, if needed. I have used as many as 7 and it does a good joy. We have a program at Wayne OK at the Senior Citizens. We bought a 6 channel Peavey for it. I wish this head had been available back when we bought that.
Quality
It is made of good material. Seems to be very sturdy. Good looking.
Value
It is the best buy on the market.
Manufacturer Support
No haven't had a need to.
The Wow Factor
A practical addition to setup.

"VERY GOOD POWERED MIXER FOR A GREAT PRICE!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I hope to take care of it and use it for many years.
Sound
I have owned the PMX2000 for over 6 months now. We use it for a 3 piece Rock band in small and medium sized clubs. I am amazed at how powerful it is. Even at loud volumes, it has been able to keep up, no problem. I find it has a very clean, clear sound. We play CD's thru the RCA In's to adjust the EQ and get a good sound in the house. From there we adjust individual channel EQ's. If set up properly (speaker position), good cables and mics, you'll get a great sound. We have found the effects to be quite good. You have to experiment and find the ones you like. I have read some bad reviews where others say it's noisey, chirped etc..., I don't know what they're talking about. My unit is extremely quiet. Our last gig, the owner said he was amazed at the great sound we get from our small PA, better than bands with much bigger and more powerful systems. So it's all in how you use it.
Features
10 Channels, 99 Effects, two 9 Band EQ's, Stereo or Mono, Phantom Power, Pre-Amps Out etc... For the price, you get a lot. Sure, it would be nice to have a 15 Band EQ, but no one else offers that either. It's one shortcoming is that it should have 1/4" Speaker Outs.
Quality
So far, we have not had the least little problem. It seems as well built as any other powered mixer out there. It would be nice if they offered a case for it.
Value
Where else can you get a 10 Channel Mixer, 99 Effects unit, and a 500W Amp for this price? It is the best value out there period.
Manufacturer Support
No problems, so we haven't needed Support.
The Wow Factor
The PMX2000 will never win a beauty contest, but that's not why I bought it anyway. It looks good in a dark club when it's all lit up!

"Now everyone wants to borrow this p.a. head!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
We'll see how well this holds up, being used as a learning tool for young rock musicians. As they make their errors learning to use, load & care for their equipment, at least we know the dollar amount at risk is pretty low.
Sound
Great value, especially for the price. Clear & clean; we bought this for use with a youth band (ages 12-15) and it does its job well. Any true audiophile won't be shopping this price bracket anyway, if you're looking for a low-budget portable p.a. head with flexibility, this one will do the job.
Features
Low & hi impedance inputs, individual channel eq, separate monitor/main eqs & phantom power give lots of options & make running both instruments & vocals easy. The rca inputs allow for break time/setup time music. The kids like the effects and lights....
Ease of Use
Easy to use, average people (not necessarity trained as sound engineers) ages 12-70 have used this with great success. Once we got it, it seemed everybody who heard it wants to borrow it from us.
Quality
Purchased as B-stock - the "blemish" was a shallow cut in the exterior of the case & did not affect the performace or appearance of the unit. I had to search for it, and if you're lugging this around to gigs, you'll do worse damage the first time you load in & out.
Value
No question - great bang for the buck.

replaced an ELESIS STUDIO 24 mixer with this, and we like this one a lot better for what we are doing with it.(also replaced a crown 1000 amp0
Sound
sounds great. we use it for our practice room which is rather large. we use it for mostly accoustic instruments and vocals. does a good job on both (with good mics)
Features
has plenty of features. woul like a pan control.
Quality
couldn't feed any powered mixer with the quality at near the price. I did a lot of research before i purchased
Value
most product for the money that i found anywhere, and i did a lot of reserch before buying.

"All you need for smaller clubs."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
This is a great PA head and it is half the cost of the other stuff. It has good power, lots of I/O and a clean sound. Buy good mics for best effect.
Features
You can split the head to drive mains and monitors separately, that is, no separate monitors amp is needed for smaller clubs. Then it also gives you 9 band EQ for mains and 9 band EQ for the monitors. Tons of inputs and outputs. EFX. Speakon speaker outputs only.
Quality
EFX can have hiss. Lower the return volume and up the send volume to overcome this.
Value
Breakthu low price for a quality PA head.

"Amazing Mixer for a good price!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This has been great for me, its a little bit light for the speakers I have paired with it. If you want a good mixer for a good price, this is really something to look at.
Sound
Very Very clean, Not much hiss. The EQs allow for tone modification should you need it.
Features
The DSP is nice, although for DJing straight out of my laptop I never needed it much. The nine band Graphic Equalizers are very very nice, I use them to "shape" my sound, then I set the three band Equalizers on the individual channels and I'm set!
Ease of Use
Never needed the book, all of the controls are well labeled and arranged. I liked that because this is my first mixer.
Value
This is the bang for the buck! Don't let the cheap price fool you, this is one hell of a mixer.
Manufacturer Support
I don't know, I've Never had to use it. Almost two years of near everyday use and still plays like it did the day I first hooked it up.
The Wow Factor
It looks alright I guess, I personally like the design of some of the newer Behringer mixers.

"Nice but Noisy!"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I hope that the unit will meet my needs for at least five years. Only a huge technical breakthrough (available at a similarly inexpensive price) would whet my appetite to consider replacement.
Sound
Powerful, but noisy. I'm driving a pair of Yamaha S115IV speakers. The sound is nice for both keyboards and vocals. The EQ is very responsive, but adds even more white noise to the mix. I replaced a Peavey powered mixer with this Behringer. It's much more versatile and more powerful. By experimenting with the gain, the hiss is controllable. When playing, it's not noticeable. But when at rest, it's a bit too prominent. If Behringer is able to fix this one flaw, it would be a 10!
Features
This is the most feature-laden powered mixer for the money that I've ever seen. Effects, phantom power, stereo/mono/monitor options, ten channels, and more! It's fairly intuitive to use. (I WILL read the manual eventually.) Like anything, I find myself wanting more - it would be nice if you could change parameters on the effects, for example. But what do you want for $300?! One warning. You'll need Neutrik cables or a Neutrik to 1/4 inch adapter to hook your speakers up!
Quality
Behringer ships these double-boxed. They had better. They used the flimsiest styrofoam packing known to mankind. Clearly, it's one of the corners they cut to keep their prices so low. My unit arrived without blemish or any other manufacturing issue. I haven't had the powered mixer fo rlong, but it appears to be sturdy and well-assembled. (My Peavey, on the otehr hand, was delivered with faulty reverb, and the too-small knobs kept falling off.) The noisiness of the Behringer unit leads me to believe that it's insides aren't of the highest quality.
Value
Excellent stuff for the money. This is what Behringer is all about. Don't look to their products for the highest quality. Value is the key word.
Manufacturer Support
Not Applicable. I haven't had to contact Behringer directly yet. I did have a problem with a Behringer keyboard amp that I recently purchased. It was replaced by the supplier, however.
The Wow Factor
Not ott many cosmetic bells or whistles, or flashing lights. It's practical and efficient. It's definitely not a museum piece.

"LEARN TO USE HER AND SHE IS AWESOME!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It has paid for itself already. I would replace it with another one or upgrade to another beringer product.
Sound
If you can't get great sound out of this powered amp, it's because you have sub par speakers, or crummy mics. Or it may be possible you just don't like to read the manuals and can't operate the settings. I use this thing for small gigs with my band for vocals and to mic my acoustic. I also use it for karaoke gigs I occasionaly do for a friends corner bar. With the effects and the eq's on the main and monitors, you can tweak this bad boy to sound awsome. Use the shielded speak-on cables, not the adapters for the 1/4" cheap cables. If you need more more balls, you can add on a power amp later. I mixed through this Behringer, tapped into the club's system. Rocked the house. The only noise is coming from the whinner that is incapible of adjusting the equipment. Top notch for the bucks!
Features
I wish it had more rca inputs (only because of the karaoke thing) There is only one channel to input a cd changer etc.
Quality
Bilt well..

"If your looking for something that will be reliable for years to come and is not hard on the bank account then this is the power"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Just hope to have it for a very long time to come. But would probably buy another Behringer. They have an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. I looked into Mackie and I do respect their products but were just too pricey for my blood at this time. Cannot really say anything negative about the Behringer PMX2000 Power Mixer/Amp.
Sound
I wanted a power mixer amp with on board effects so I wouldn't have to have a separate processor. This has it all. I do a solo act with a 12 string Martin and a 12 string electric Rickenbacker and my Martin and Ric sound so sweet. By the way I'm running this thru a pair of JBL SF15 2-ways and they are handling the power just fine. And for a mike, I'm using maybe a little out of date but it's a Electro-Voice PL-80 but it still smokes and feedback is non-existant. I've got plenty of headroom if extra punch is needed to fill larger venues. I highly recommend this power mixer/amp to anyone who has a small club act or is a solo like myself. The effect for vocals are so cool too and do not sound artificial at all. I use just a trace of chorus on my voice but not oversaturated.
Features
There were no accessories included with this product. I found it easy to set up and only skill needed was to be able to read simple english. Only one effect I wish it had for guitar is that I would of liked to of seen a onboard compressor for my Ric 12 string. But I own a Boss Stump box compressor that works out really well for it. Other than that I cannot really point out anything negative about it. And for the money Behringer has really went all out to make it affordable and practical and most of all built very well. No corner cutting seen as yet.
Quality
Great Quality. If you're on the road a lot u might want to save the box it was shipped in just for peace of mind and to protect it extensively, which I do. So far, so good. It was packed really well from the factory.
Value
Worth every penny. Sure u could go out and buy a Mackie or Yamaha but sometimes price does not mean much and in this case this is worth the buck.
Manufacturer Support
Cant really rate it on this section as I have not dealt with them directly as yet with any problems that I have experienced as yet.
The Wow Factor
It has the look and quality of genius engineering. Everything on it is simple to use.

"A bad experience."

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
I bought a "blem" and it physically looked like new. Unfortunately, it didn't work right and I had to return it. The left/monitro speakon output connector kept cutting out on me unless I would put pressure on the connector forcing it up. Of course, this would have been a good use of duct tape, but I couldn't rely on that for a live gig. The amplifier also was quite noisy both in terms of constant "white noise" and especially when turning switches on or off. For example, someone turning a mic switch on would result in a loud "pop" which did NOT happen when I used a Yamaha powered mixer. Fortunately, ZZounds was very courteous about allowing me to return the product, but returning it is still a lot of hassle to go through in terms of boxing the product up for shipment, etc. Anyway, from this experience, I'm reluctant to buy another Behringer product but I'm still happy with ZZounds.
Quality
As stated above, the product was defective and it was noisy.
Manufacturer Support
ZZounds was very courteous about letting me return the product.

"Biggest paperweight I ever bought!"

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This product was one of the worst buys I made during the entire year of 2004. I'll make sure to never buy a Behringer product again, so I won't have to make that mistake again. "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." I'll never buy from this company again!
Sound
This mixer gives off a constant humming noise that is aggravating in the extreme.
Features
It comes with lots of extra features, but the majority of them are not needed, and most probably will never be used. Overkill, and it seems they through these 'extra' features in to make the system look beeter than it really is.
Quality
VERY disapointed in this mixer. Thought at first that I had just been unlucky enough to get a dud, but am now wondering if all the PMX2000 are bad. Within 2 weeks of buying this mixer, one of the microphone channels burned out on me. Within a few more weeks one more burned out. Now, it has messed up one of my brand new speakers ($280 plus for this new speaker!) and made it so the speaker wouldn't be an acceptable speaker for singings. Totally discusted with Behringer products!
Value
Hmmmm...It cost me over $300, and I got to use it for slightly less than 2 weeks before it started to fall apart on me, you figure out the value!
Manufacturer Support
Getting Behringer to do anything about the warranty on this mixer is a lost battle. I contacted them repeatedly about getting this item replaced, and after 5 months I still have not heard one word about it. Since the warranty runs out in March-April 2005, the chances of getting them to replace or fix this is almost obselete. The ignore all emails, and requests for address to return this to get fixed! I will NEVER NEVER buy this brand again.
The Wow Factor
It's a square black box, what can I say.

This has 3 stereo instrument inputs in addition to a stereo RCA input for an MP3 player. I use it with my keyboards as my primary amplification, but it also functions as a backup to the band PA in case we lose an amp or worse.

"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars

Returned the unit for another brand. Disappointing performance, the idea that the amp is unstable could result in speaker damage. Purchased unit on specs and price but the unit did not perform as expected. Did like size nd layout and the speakon connectors.
Sound
Purchased unit as a backup unit for small venues---very disappointed--amplifiers very noisy and unstable. Unit OK as a practice unit at low levels.
