Behringer DD400 Pedal Customer Review

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It'll do. If it breaks, no big loss; I might get another, I might not. It'll probably just be a matter of whether it's convenient or not.
Sound
This is a damned hissy pedal. But it's a $30 delay. I plan on sticking this on my drum machine and rescuing my Ibanez DE-7 (which I love on my guitar) from it, so I'm not too too concerned. That being said, I am convinced that you can make some ridiculous sounds with this (even ridiculous for delay pedals).
Features
Would really be nice if it came with a decent power supply. It doesn't, of course, but that's the big thing with the flashing LED, so far as I can tell - using a crappy power supply doesn't do the job too well with it. Hooked up to my Godlyke Power-All supply, along with seven other pedals, it glows constant and fine. Hooked up to a cheap $4 9v 300mA one, it strobes and hisses even worse. I also wish the damned LED wasn't so friggin' bright! I can't see a thing when I look at it.
Ease of Use
The 'manual' is far from useful, and the 'mode' knob is ridiculous. You'd think for a seven-mode pedal it would click into seven different positions, right? Hell no! It just slides from one into the next. Okay, so you'd think then that you're controlling the delay time with that then, right? Nope! That is solely the domain of the 'time' knob. It doesn't seem to be working? Oh, you've got the mode button on 'hold'. How does hold work? Record a quick passage whilst holding down the switch (kinda Boss delay-like). How long can you loop with hold? No idea! Your hold loop is fading out? Huh? That doesn't sound right! Oh, feedback (repetitions) is not on full. That's silly. Oh, and speaking of knobs that don't really accurately describe their function, 'level' in mono (haven't tried stereo) should really be labelled 'blend'.
Quality
I am so confused by the decision regarding the mode knob. I am also convinced that I am going to break at least one knob off of this thing in a short time, because delays want you to fiddle with them constantly. They do not want you to set and forget! That being said, they feel much sturdier than the knobs on the Behringer CS100 compressor I bought at the same time.
Value
$30 for a delay. C'mon. Behringer is entirely about the value field.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't tried yet.
The Wow Factor
It's a $30 delay. I totally expected it to be worth $30. It's worth $30. $40 would be pushing it (but I'd probably still pay it). $50 would be crazy.

"Only if you cannot afford anything else!"

If you need a delay in a hurry and cannot afford anything else, this one will do. I owned mine for about four or five months before the tap tempo input stopped working then after a year it went out all together. This seems to be the case with all of these Behringer pedals. They are cheap and they work and they sound better than most no name and off brand pedals, just don't count on them to hold up very long. They do add some hiss and the delay sound is a bit harsh but it has all the features of the comparable boss unit at a third of the price. My advice, if you can afford to spend the money on something better, don't buy this. If you have to have a delay pedal today and only have 30$, and are not too concerned with how long it's gonna last, go for it.

This is a neat little gadget; I use it for sublety on my bass. The controls are quite sensitive so you can go from almost a light reverb sound to full delay. I really don't care for the battery access. The access is via spring loaded pins that hinge the actual pedal and I almost lost one already when it shot out of the spring(off my face) and across the room. Still, for the price it can't be beat

Very happy with this pedal, and because of that have bought other Behringer pedals. Cost is chump change and I'd certainly replace it with the same unit if needed.
Sound
Great sound and I'm getting zero noise. I am using a One-Spot (switching) power supply which makes a huge difference. Transformer based power supplies will always hum for me, the One-spot won't, and will run a half dozen pedals.
Features
This has all the basic options I need, short to long delays, feedback loop, and level control. I use 3 delay pedals, one for a long delay with many repeats, one for medium delay and one for the 50's slapback sound, so I set it and forget it. Don't care for the bright blue light, but once it's set, who cares? Then again, there's no question when it's on.
Ease of Use
This would be a 9 except for the battery issue. Knobs is knobs and they do what they are supposed to, no problem there. But if you are using a battery, the insert design leaves something to be desired. You have to push in the little black thingies on the sides with a paper clip or a pen. Clumsy. Directions for that were not clear to me.
Quality
It's plastic, but better quality plastic (smile). I've had no issues, but I keep it in a pedal board and don't stomp on it with the heel of a hobnail boot (being a high top sneaker clad 50's rocker). Be sensible with it and it won't break, I've have mine for over a year and have spilled various beverages on it. Still works.
Value
Gotta give it a 10. I could have spent a couple of hundred bucks to get an echo pedal, but why? This does what I need very well.
Manufacturer Support
A 5 because I've needed no service and have no idea.
The Wow Factor
Not sexy, but perfectly useful.

"Meh."

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
It does what it was made to do. It just doesn't do what it was made to do very well.
Features
Pretty standard for a delay pedal. Doesn't come with power adapter. Made of plastic.
Ease of Use
Fairly straight forward, just play with the knobs a bit then turn it on.
Quality
Again, made of plastic. Mine doesn't work anymore.(3 weeks)
Value
You get what you pay for here.
Manufacturer Support
Not going to bother. Just don't buy this and you wont need to contact them
The Wow Factor
Not particularly eye catching

Behringer DD400 Pedal Customer Review

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Overall I am sending the second pedal back and replacing it with a different manufacture's delay pedal.
Sound
I could not get the pedal to work, therefore I really can't comment on the sound.
Features
Again I could not get the pedal to work. But if I could it seems the pedal would sound good and do the job.
Quality
Even though the pedal has a plastic body, it seems to be very durable. However the first pedal did not work at all. The L.E.D would flash rapidly and I could not change the output of the pedal (there was no sound from the pedal). I sent the pedal back and received another DD400 with the same L.E.D problem but I could hear some sound from the pedal. With both pedals I could not turn them off by stepping on the switch.
Value
The value was decent for an entry level delay pedal.
Manufacturer Support
I cannot comment on the company that manufactured the pedal, I did not call them for support.
The Wow Factor
I think the only appeal for the pedal would be the price.

Sound
There was a noise in it and you could not record. The sound was ok and it worked ok. it was a delay.
Ease of Use
The tremalo did not work like it should. It said it worked like a 50 or 60 one, it was way off.
