Behringer BXL3000 Amp Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Already got my moneys worth. Will probably buy better gear for gigging, but my BXL3000 is a keeper.
Sound
On its own...a nice clean tone to high gain OD if you want it. Not too shabby. I run a V-amp Pro through it, it reproduces these tones very well. (almost no difference though the amp or DI through the house)
Features
Love the EQ. Channel 1 I run clean, Gain at 2 w/ a little comp. Channel 2 I never use (but nice to have). Ultrabass I have NO need for. Foot switch (included) is nice for those who switch around.
Ease of Use
Easy Peasy:) Nothing complicated here.
Quality
For the price-point, well...what more could you ask for, REALLY! I use it & days a week (home practice, rehearsal, gigged 2 days a week at smallish venue) w/ NO problems. HA HA haters!
Value
At this price...try it. If you don't like it...send it back. Not everyones cup of tea, but a great value none the less.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed.
The Wow Factor
Be sure you know what your needs are. This is a great combo for MY needs. That's it.

"The best $300 i've ever invested!!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Love the quality it gives, with the price I paid. I recommend this product to all bass players. If not for plaging gigs, but just having at home. It will not let you down.
Sound
I've owned several combo amps from different brands. Peavey, Behringer, crate... you name it. I've never heard clarity at this level. especially coming out of a package so small. I play a 5 string peavey grind bxp. I'm astounded by the punch this sucker packs, but even more, the clarity on the top end. I can play any style of music with this amp. I mostly play gospel in a church that seats about 500. It's more than enough power for the venue. A great investment!!!
Features
For the styles of music I play, the compressor and shape settings are very helpful. It's versatile for all genres. I can adjust the settings from my usual gospel to jazz or use the ultra bass to play rock.
Ease of Use
I plugged my bass in this rig and went to work. The settings are self explanatory. This rig was perfect for my bass.
Quality
This is the $300 i've ever spent. You cant beat this quality for this price. Everything I wanted in a rig. I played in a 500 seat church, and never had to adjust my bass or the rig. Great product!!
Value
The best $300 I ever spent!!! I priced rigs in the range of $500- $1000. Didn't have to spend that much to get the quality I needed.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with the company, and hope not to!!
The Wow Factor
It's not sexy. In fact, when the rig arrived at my house, I thought where's the rest of it? When I opened it and saw the settings , I fell in love with it.

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I play bass in a Christian rock group and needed an amp with more volume than the Crate I was using. I love this Behringer. It has the volume to rattle anything around it, including walls and windows, and has features that would normally be found only on much more expensive models. My drummer likes to feel the bass, and this 61 pound powerhouse doesn't disappoint! Great amp for an unbeatable price!

""ZZounds Provides the "Sounds" for Ladies Too!""

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Since ZZounds carries anything I would need at a later date, I would stick with them. If my equipment was lost or stolen I would replace with the exact same brand, from the same company. I wish I had known of ZZounds months ago, I would probably be a more proficient player by now.
Sound
I am a "bass guitarist" in training. I have really progressed in playing these past few months under the tutelage of "the best female bass guitarist in Anson County" (smile). The Behringer 300W amp has truly improved the sound of my Peavey, sounds I didn't khow my guitar could produce (been training on the 20 Watt amp that came with the guitar). My brother, who is a bass player hooked my guitar to the Behringer BXL3000 Ultrabass Bass Combo Amplifier (300 Watts 1x15 in.): and I was shocked at the sound!!!! Can't wait until I completely pay for MY new amp. Over the next few months I plan on playing bass with our church musicians and definitely plan on getting a rack to pull my amp back and forth with ease. Like my guitar teacher, I plan on becoming "the best female gospel bass guitar player in Anson County" with one of the best amps, I believe, made! This amp suits my needs and I am very proud to be an almost-owner! Thank you so much for trusting me by setting up payments in order for me to further hone my skills by actually "hearing" what I am playing. God Bless!
Features
I haven't yet begun to use the foot pedal (Channel/Ultrabass) that came with the amp, I am still learning just how many features are included and how to properly utilize them.
Ease of Use
The sound is great and yes, there is a learning curve. The manual is clear and I am taking my time trying to learn and utilize all the features that will help me master my bass.
Quality
The amp was "brand new" when received, in best condition. Once I become an official church musician I plan on ordering some kind of rack to pull it (or have it pulled (smile) with ease. Right now, I am satisified.
Value
Yes!
Manufacturer Support
I rated "10" because of the trust extended to me by zzounds in scheduling payments in order for me to obtain this amp which I had wanted for quite some time.
The Wow Factor
I like the build of the cabinet and how it sort of sits back.

"You Couldn't ask for a better combo amp for the price and wattage."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Yo have unlimited tones available with this amp (BXL3000 Behringer Combo Bass Amp) 300 watts. They recommend channel 1 gain put half way straight up. Then run the Master volume where you want it. Which won't be that much before it gets too loud. this way you don't clip it and ensures enough signal from bass guitar.
Sound
The sound quality is great for a combo amp. You can make it sound like rock, or country and coutry rock, or blues. Pretty much any style you wish to play. I kind of wish Behringer had put handles on each side so it would be easier to handle when carrying to distribute the weight better. (60-1/2 lbs.)
Features
You can get a clean sound or a dirty overdrive sound when needed. I like the ultrabass octive effect and the compressor. The second channel is also great when you want to set up for sligtly more volume to take a bass lead or riff. Just use the included foot switch to change from channel 1 to 2. Or, turn the ultrabass octive on and off.
Ease of Use
Just plug set your sound to satisfy your type of music and play. Just play around to see how the tones sound and just play away.
Quality
This amp seems to be very solid. If needed for a back-up amp on stage at a gig it would be great for small to medium size clubs especially if you ae running DI to PA.
Value
For this price point and features you can't get a better combo bass amp.Th
Manufacturer Support
Have not had to deal with support. Hopefully never will need to.
The Wow Factor
This amp is compact, but has a great sound. The appearance great. Nice looking amp. I'm glad the pamp panel is black and not silver or gold. Behringer did a great job in designing this amp.

Yes it is the best bass amp deal out there, buy it!
Sound
It sounds great! You can get any sound you want.its a bass amp, it sounds like a bass amp---really it does sound good.
Features
Has more stuff than I needed on a amp. but fun to play with! Very good eq.
Ease of Use
Easy to use? after you get it all sorted-out, yes!
Quality
It gets a nine here because of the weight problem, 60 pounds! If you got a roadie no problem. what I got is a bad back one heavy combo and one amp I leave at church, gonna have to bay a smaller one for home, maybe the 90 watter ?
Value
This is a 10 for sure! 1.00$ per watt !! It is a steal people!!! And it sounds great!
Manufacturer Support
Don't know, hope to never need it! Seems to be well made, yes in china but Behringer has been in china for 20 years of amp building and they should have it right by now!!!

Cheap is cheap. My experience with the product? I will say I "owned it" at one time. The speaker blew out 3 days after the warranty was up and I wasn't gonna waste time or money to repair it. To the trash it went.

best money spent in a long time!! I have purchased a bunch of amps over a long period of time and this little amp has Big sound with a lot of legs! If your running through a board this amp is all you need. Also the workmanship is top shelf all the way. The most important thing to me is no distortion when it's turned up and this amp is very clear no matter where the volume button is set with a little fine tuning. enjoy!! and thanks Behringer!

"Durable, great sound, foot-switchable clean & dirty channels, AFFORDABLE, and I prefer it to my SWR Workingman 15."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
If this amp were lost or stolen, I would buy the same amp. There is no question about this. I will use it until it wears out, which should be a long time, based upon my 8-year-old Behringer products. For a performer like me (local gigs, occasional travel gigs up to 400 miles, bars, beer gardens, weddings, etc.) this amp is perfect. It's powerful and sounds nice, without the size, weight, or expense of Ampeg or other big names. If you don't have roadies and megabucks, this is your amp.
Sound
Behringer products last. I have read bad reviews of the company, but those reviewers have not tried Behringer's recent amps. The BXL3000 Ultrabass has made me very happy. It has a clean channel that out-thumps my SWR Workingman 15 by double, and a second channel that I have shaped "dirty" for funk. There is a footswitch to swap channels for seamless on-stage switching. I have used it outdoors on its own (crowd = 2000) and indoors using the DI out to house mixer. In both settings, the sound was fantastic, rich and powerful, nad-rattling bass.
Features
The footswitch is a great addition, but under stage lights, I wish the footswitch had LEDs so I wouldn't have to check the amp to verify the settings. At any rate, it does make it very easy to switch from clean to dirty sound. The "dirty" channel includes shaping, ratio of clean-t0-dirty, and "Ultrabass," which enhances the harmonics (and string noise, so be careful).
Ease of Use
This amp is very easy to use. Everything is intuitive and user-friendly. Plug it in and the clean channel is ready to go. Another 10 minutes and you will find your favorite dirty sound for the second channel. The amp is also designed to tilt back, making it perfect for on-stage feedback for you, and deafening power for harassing your drummer!
Quality
I can hear something rattling around inside. So far, it hasn't affected the performance of the amp, but shouldn't everything have been screwed or glued tight?
Value
This amp costs half of comparable amps from other manufacturers. It has great sound, tremendous power, and two foot-switchable channels. Now that I have experience with this amp, I would pay more for it! Furthermore, my Behringer piano amp, purchased 8-years ago and used\abused hard since then, has never given me a moment's trouble, So I know I will be enjoying this Ultrabass for years to come.

"You won't be able to find a better Bass Combo Amp for this Price!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
If you want a good bass sound for small to medium sized venues without handing over your wallet - at least give yourself the benefit of giving one of these a test drive.
Sound
This is definately a little beast, and the best buy out there!! I read at least 10 reviews floatng out there before buying, and the only review I disagree with is the claim that this unit is only an "actual 180 watts". Don't be misled by that claim - I use this as a home combo for home rehersal & learning songs in a 900sq ft space, and if I were to compare the lower volume of my 350 watt Hartke Stack (4x10/1x15) with the Master Volume set to 2-3 (both preamps set to 7) to avoid discomfort or rattling things off the walls, this Behringer gives the same thing at a 3-4 master volume setting for that small space (even thought it only has the single 15). So while I'd only question how that Wattage was measured, the bottom line is for a 60lb little kickback/wedge style cab - this thing does just fine. While I'd obviously never say this amp would replace my stack,...I would have to sheepishly say I mistakenly over-bought - perhaps the BXL1800 would have been the better choice for my home studio usage (oooops). Yet, this amp could be used as an additional on stage bass amp/monitor for opposite side of stage at the larger venues & festivals I play - certainly cheaper (and more manageable) than running a powered monitor thru additionals channels on a mixing board at the mercy of a sound guy. (my drummer likes to hear some thump) While this makes a decent rehersal/studio amp,...it would also be more than adequate for small venues like jazz clubs, acoustic cafes, etc - for those of you who are doing that sort of thing.
Features
For the money - try to find a good quality sounding pre-amp distortion DI with a for less than $200. I use a 3 channel Sans Amp Pro-DI with my gig rig,...and the sound is not far off that mark. The Channel 2 distortion has a nice smooth grit to it or even a nasty naughty old Rick sound I've missed at times (I'm playing an active Ibanez 5-String)
Ease of Use
Very straight forward
Quality
This Combo weighs 61 lbs - a very solid cabinet with minor sound bleed until it's turned up to about 7 or more. The twin ports out the back help this alot!!.
Value
Absolutely the best out there for this amount of money - it's that simple.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had any problems, but historically Behringer was good about a different warantee issue I had with a PA sound processor (for whatever that's worth).
The Wow Factor
It looks good, being a more particular type regarding athsteics - I've always thought Behringer does a good job with their bling factor. I prefer the black bezel over the old silver ones.

"Best Bass Amp to Price Ratio."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The sound is very powerful and the equalizer on it replaced my foot controller. Ultrabass is excellent but be warned it conks out on really low notes (Like the first five frets of the E string.) But the Ultrabass is meant to be used in the upper range anyway and that's were it shines!! Like I mentioned there's pretty much not any sound you can't get out of the equalizer.
Features
Equalizer, Ultrabass, Switchable channels. Foot pedal for the Ultrabass and Channels. Enough Said.
Ease of Use
To me this amp is very straight forward. Beginners may be overwhelmed my the equalizer but I was kinda too!
Quality
8 on quality because for some reason they have a 200W speaker in this instead of a 300W. I have had this up all the way but it would make logical sense if it had a 300W in it. Other than that this amp feels very solid. Unlike some of Behringer's stuff in which they have a bad rep for fragile items.
Value
The price is great. I bought this at a local music store or 300 but oh well.
The Wow Factor
7, mostly since Behringer is not a company people flock to first.
