"Behringer TRUTH 3031A, owner review"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I am very satisfied, no problems. wouldn't trade it. would likely be loyal to same manufacture/product for replacement because of experience.
Sound
You will hear things in your mix never noticed before, flaws/static/rf interference. Enhanced clarity and precision have helped me to improve my system performance and sharpened my mixing skills. Bass response could be better but would likely compromise the speaker design if bass freq response was decreased (>50hz), Sub use is essential for lower frequencies. Built in room compensation EQ to customize to room. acoustics.
Features
1/4" TRS, balanced XLR outs on board room compensation EQ
Ease of Use
room set up w/ room compensation EQ.
Quality
Behringer had bad rap mostly for mixer components, reliability. These monitors have excellent engineering, components, material and manufacturing precision and quality. They compared very well to systems twice as much or more than I paid for them. No problems with over a year of regular use.
Manufacturer Support
N/A Behringer provided excellent documentation with product including individual matched pair speaker frequency response charts from a test diagram.
The Wow Factor
modern attractive design, great lines/finish.

"Amazing Speakers, Great Quality Studio Sounds, Usable as Keyboard Speakers through a mixer. Highly Recommended!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I dont see any reason for me to even consider purchasing any other speakers. I have had so many compliments on my setup sounds good that I don't see much room for improvement. I'm not fond of how the new mixer effects work on the latest X1204USB from behringer but I'll get past it.
Sound
Sound has been amazing. I have several friends that have heard these speakers and they all said they sound amazing. Very crisp crystal clear mids and highs, bass is great with nice smooth tones. I run them about 3/4 of the power and in a large 25x20 room they blast it no problems and thats not even turned up from the mixer side of it. I usually run about -4 so they have plenty of power. I use these mostly for my Keyboard setup and vocals and either or combined sound excellent. Highly recommend these. I stopped up to Sam Ash and also Guitar Center to listen to all their studio speakers. I took my Behringer's with me to compare and the guys all agreed they thought sounded the best overall, especially considering the money. I can't say more about hem other than you're not wasting your money at all. Well worth it. I'm using these plugged into a Behringer X1204USB and all in all, love the setup.
Features
There are adjustable settings on the back to give you a little tweaking on crossovers of the mids'highs'bass basically but you don't need to bother with them. Unless you have amazing hearing, you aren't going to notice the changes at all. The Gain button could be a little bigger but then again, its not like you are ever going to adjust it once you have your mixer tuned in correctly. Power button is located in a great spot, right on top and it makes it convenient to use.
Ease of Use
Right out of the box, hookup, plug in and you're good to go. Honestly, these blew my mind. I was so iffy on all the other speakers and I was just about to bite the bullet and buy the Bose L1 system and I'm glad I saved my money and bought these instead. Plenty of great sound to be had and for a price I feel is right.
Quality
Very sturdy speaker. Has great weight to it, nice cabinet design. Ribbon tweeters look like a studio option and I could tell a difference between the quality of the highs and mids because of it.
Value
zZounds made it a no brainer for me to purchase as I took advantage of their 4 easy payments. I will mention however, I was under the impression I would not see an credit report hits on my record using the zZounds but don't be fooled. It will show on your credit report unfortunately but it did allow me to free up some of my cash for other things right away so its a nice service. I would rather have an ongoing account limit though after it's all paid off so you do not have to hit your credit with a hard inquiry again. Don't settle for the 2021 version, definitely worth the extra $100 to get the B3031A series, huge step up in mid-high qualities and I notice it with my keyboard playing. It's like getting speakers worth twice what these cost as an upgrade. SO
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had to use them but I have used Behringer support in the past and they were always great. I don't anticipate any issues with this speaker as its built very well.
The Wow Factor
I personally would only change the color of the power light. Instead of the standard little mini round led, maybe a light blue light instead to just go with todays trends. Looks cooler. So if all i can change is the light, the design is great. =)

"Very good sounding speakers for the money."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I expect to use these speakers a lot to get my basic mixes from the keyboards set up and for the amusement of friends and family and other assorted victims. So, I expect they will have a lot more use than the Mackies, which are my studio reference speakers.
Sound
Any review of how a speaker "SOUNDS" is purely subjective to the reviewer. If at all possible, the best thing to do is to listen for yourself with source material you are familiar with. To wit: These speakers were purchased mainly for use with my Tyros 2 workstation. Reviews of the various sub woofer/ small satellite speaker systems for this type of application left me a bit cold. I really wanted something better than overpriced and under powered boom-box speakers for a stand alone speaker system. Reviews of earlier Behringer studio monitors suggested that for the money I should really try the B3031As. I compared the Behringer B3031A speakers side by side with the original version Mackie HR824. Once adjusted to a similar gain and low and high end settings I listened to various selections of classical music. (i.e. Spartacus Suite No.2 "Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia" will give most any system a work out!) It's not how loud ya make it, it how ya make it loud...! The B3031A speakers appear to be a quasi rip-off of the HR824 design, (even down to how the sheet metal covering on the back is punched out and bent and the placement of the toroid power transformer and so on). The B3031A speakers are represented as being reasonably flat, however, to me the speakers have a bit more tone coloring in the mid-mid range and somewhat in the upper registers when going through transitional frequency sweeps (very Legato arpeggios). The high end, via the ribbon tweeter is crisp but then again I noticed subtle differences between this type tweeter and the dome tweeter in the Mackies. The high end sound focus is fairly broad so placing yourself in exactly the right position to hear the "sweet spot" is not necessary. While these speakers aren't exactly Hr824 clones they do sound very good by themselves. Plenty of *clean* bass and lots of undistorted volume. These speakers are superior to many I have listened to in the same price range.
Features
For this type of powered monitor there are adjustments on the back to get a customized sound for placement and drive level. Don't know that there is too much more to be done to the speaker itself, it's more a matter of getting the room acoustics cleaned up.
Ease of Use
Plug it in and turn it on. Apply audio and adjust to suit needs. Forget it is there. Couldn't be easier.
Quality
The B3031A appears to be built as well as the Mackie speakers... only other option would have been to make the case out of steel.... These speakers are heavy and reasonably rugged. They are mainly for studio use and might not do well on the road (as with any studio monitor!)
Value
My opinion is that these speakers are worth the money that most retailers are charging but not the "suggested retail". ($500 for a pair or less is reasonable). They may not be the ultimate speaker but then again I didn't want to mortgage the house to buy a good monitor setup for my keyboards..
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it yet.
The Wow Factor
"How would you rate the "sex appeal" of this product?" Sex appeal? These are black boxes that sit up on a shelf. Might have sex appeal to the Goth in us... Basically studio speakers are something that is relatively transparent and don't really get that much notice unless they sound bad.

"I like the punchy and crispy sound and the high clear volume of these monitors!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I am waiting for others to compare them to other studio monitors and hear what the difference in quality is.
Sound
I like the punchy and crispy sound that comes out of them and the bass is clear not to mutch rumble. I just lower the high to -2 dB and just kept the rest of the settings to normal. My room is not proffesional but the sound is good. Before i had a lot of bass rumble but my old speakers were not professional studio speakers so i cant compare them to other active studio monitors.
Features
Room settings are handy.
Ease of Use
Still hear a bit of noise when there is no sound comming thru them, but i don't have a good eath cable on my 220v power wall box. And there are three computer monitors standing around them.
Quality
Strong aluminium case, ink ribbon tweeter is well protected.
Value
good for the money i spent.
Manufacturer Support
not needed yet. Just plug and play.
The Wow Factor
They look stong and the design is ok to me.

"Behringer Truths Lie!"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I returned the monitors. I would not replace them. I guess the wonderful price I got from zZounds could not compensate for the lack of these speakers to clearly depict music. I am not a knee-jerk Behringer basher. I gave these monitors a good audition but they fell quite short. These monitors have gotten somewhat positive reviews on the net. I guess you can't trust everything you read. I compared these monitors top my old self-powered Tannoy pbm 6.5 II and (admittedly much more expensive) Focal Solo 6 BE. No contest, the Behringers lose and the better monitors made it clear just how lacking in clarity were the Behringers... Save your money and get something that will give a clear picture of what is going on with your mixes.
Sound
Muffled, grainy.
Features
Ok features.
Ease of Use
the monitors are easy enough to use. They just do not sound clear
Quality
The speakers appeared to be reasonably well made.
Value
How can a monitor be a good value if it does not give a clear picture of the music?
Manufacturer Support
I did not have to deal with Behringer directly. My contact with zZounds on the other hand, was stellar.
The Wow Factor
Sorry, no, I don't want it!

"Give them a shot, might be just what you're looking for."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Good speakers, great price, unprecidented features at this price tag. I'd be interested to hear how accurate people thought they were in a blind shoot out, but I purchased them as a speaker thats fairly balanced and get's loud, and they certainly are that.
Sound
They sound really good, but I'm not enough of an authority to say they sound accurate. Either way, they do well at low and high volumes and theres no hissing or noise coming from the amps as far as I can tell.
Features
Your not going to find ribbon tweeters on anything at even double this price, that's pretty impressive. You also have the typical room correction switches.
Ease of Use
They're monitor's, plug them in, turn up the volume.
Quality
This is always the question with Behringer products, I had a little funkiness with one of the speakers but it seems to have worked itself out, for now. Also, the power cable sockets seem a tad touchy. So far so good though.
Value
No question, 8" powered monitors, with ribbon tweeters for this price is pretty unheard of.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed anything yet, but product registration was a synch
The Wow Factor
All comes back to the ribbon tweeters, Adam's are like $700 a piece so the me too factor in pretty large.
