This is my first cajon.. I figured I would take advantage of the Play As You Pay and buy one of the more expensive drums.. I definitely got what I paid for.. The drum sounds awesome and you can tell by handling it that it is not cheap made. I also bought it for the reason that it is made in Peru, where cajons originate from.

Based on the video I had very high expectations. I am a little disappointed and the separation between the "snare" sound and the bass. I looked inside to see how it is configured, expecting to see snare wires based on their description. I quote: "To achieve this balance, this cajon features snare wires designed and placed to reduce their sound when playing the bass tone without sacrificing any snap on a slap tone." I am a drummer and know snare strings. I have also messed around with guitars to know a guitar string. These had the look, feel and texture of a guitar string, which is exactly what they advocated against in the ad. Still will use, but for the money I expected a little more than that which was delivered
