my purpose for this amp is to compare different type of monitors Studio passives monitors and Hi-fi bookshelf speakers. so far, I like what i am hearing from this amp. So you can say its for monitoring purposes lol...
well, everyone have different hearing perception to what sound natural, unnatural and etc..so i won't try to describe the flats, the colors or uncolors, speaker wire length/gauge and what brand or type of passive size monitor is best.
just know why and what you need this amp for and use it accordingly to what its design for. Yes it linear and so forth which is great for studio applications but again as it comes with cooling fan, expect to hear some relative low noise fan from it. I guess, its up to you how you wanna hide it or place it.
all i know is i can count on this amp to give out what i put in.
If you like me who have fun doing critical listening, home studio recording or collecting/experimenting with noise/sound/music or enjoy life basically, with this price range, its a good value purchase and peace of gear to have.
I am at the moment contemplating either to get SLA-1 or SLA-2.
faceplate is a plus.... to be able to adjust your level and safe it by just screwing the faceplate on.
now, two rack space is awesome!
right amount of power for my need.
its simply a great peace of gear.

Sound
Sound good. I use the SLA4 for mids & highs. Good power for horns,bullets & small mids. It works best when pre-amped,EQ or X-over. Be carefull when hooking up the output, speaker pattern was confusing. I has a pair of speakers hook up but only two would play. It took a while before I realized they were plugged into the wrong outlet.1 RU is great, price per watts is a good value. Road test next weekend.

Banana plug for speaker out is kinda not so good. Connector fell out while testing.
