"Perfect for Practice or Small gig"

When I got this amp I was surprised at how loud it is. I thought 100w wasn’t going to be enough until I read it is 100w RMS... thus meaning it’s actually a 200w peak amp. I run the amp flat, and get the tones I want from my Fender Jazz Active Deluxe with the 3 band eq built in. It’s excellent for getting 70s clean Ampeg bass tone I was looking for through without it costing me my back or too much money. If you’re looking for a versatile amp with modern tech and old school tones, this is it. I run the amp and a DI for church without the cab, but at home I barely have it under “2” for volume. The aux plug is great but a little muddy for songs that have a wide range. It’s very well built and it has some weight to it. Definitely good for gospel, funk, r&b and rock. I recommend this amp for sure

I got this just to use in the Livingroom when I don't feel like going downstairs to the studio. This is really, really loud. I have not turned it past 2. It sounds really good though. I play a Rickenbacker 4003, Hofner 500/1, and a Gibson EB3 and every one sound unbelievably good through this.

"Good and bad"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars

The Ampeg micro stack is a good amp. Liked everything about it. The head is great but the speaks went bad within a mouth. Replace with upgraded speaks. It sounds great! I should not had to do that. Never played over 3 on the volume. So if you are going to purchase this amp plan to buy new speakers. Thought I let you know.

I purchased this primarily because of its portability and was hoping it would have enough umph to also use for gigs. I’m happy to say it does have enough volume to use for practice or small venues. The price is really good affordable for the student or pro player. I love the portability thankfully the days of heavy bass rigs are over. I was a bit concerned about it having only 100 watts but it does have enough volume to play out with. I love the fact that it’s easy to use just a volume knob and 3 band EQ. The tone is that vintage Ampeg sound the 2x10 cabinet is very punchy. Only thing I wish it would have is a balanced XLR output but it does have a quarter inch out so not the worst. Bottom line good price nice features and loud enough for those of us that still play out.

Let me say this has the wow factor in mini looks just like the big stacks and sounds just as good. Setup super easy. Fyi if you have back issues get a dolly or a teen to move it around it is heavy. Built like a tank. Came on time no issues. I am not a professional bass player, and I've only been playing for about a year. I didn't understand when people say oh this amp sounds different then that one, i always figured an amp was an amp. Boy was I wrong, I have a rumble 40 which I love its got a lot of nice features, but I was looking for more, I saw the ampeg and the price was right so I bought it. Just got it today and let me just say different amps do not sound the same, I love the tones on this thing the deep bottom end it's amazing. I play a lot of 70s and 80 rock and heavy metal and it is great. I would recommend this for anyone. It is a great practice or small venue amp.

It's a great little amp. Big enough to make a ruckus but you can move it with out a friend or a dolly. It's my first ampeg because I'm a guitarist. It's minimalist but sounds good without effects. I don't need anything bigger because I have a PA but I haven't needed too. The 0 db and -15db features are nice. Aux in is great for learning the only thing that would make it better is blue tooth aux. I like it I'm pleased with my purchase

It's super cute, but the construction is MDF and a piece of the Tolex was ripped from a staple not pressed in all the way on the front cover and scraping it away - kind of sucks for a brand new item, but I don't feel like causing a fuss over a little nick. Just weaksauce quality control... The sound is good. Nothing to write home to mom about, but it does have that "Ampeg signature growl" type of sound, for the bedroom. It's lacking the gain/master volume controls, but with the dual inputs, its doable. It's my favorite amp of all time for bass in the bedroom, but I wouldn't even attempt to ever jam with an acoustic drummer. Probably for the better, since MDF isn't very road worthy anyway. Acoustic guitar sounds decent through it too. It doesn't have an XLR direct out, but Ampeg isn't known for clean XLR outputs in the past, so I'm not sweating it. A mic would better capture its essence anyway. Its pre-amp pretty much sounds exactly like my Sansamp (which was designed to emulate the Ampeg sound, at least I think so anyway).

Awesome little bass stack for small stage gigging. Use 2x10 cab for stage monitoring and run DI into the mains. Effects loop is a bonus, too!

"Cheap cabinet and speaker. Rattles like crazy."

What can I say about this? It is cheap yes, but it feels cheap and it sounds cheap. It is not one of those low dollar gems where you get a lot more than you expected. That is not the case here. With this one you get exactly what you paid for. It sounds ok at best, and that is only if you don't turn it up past three or so. Which is a pretty big if. The overall feel of it is flabby, and it rattles so badly when you turn it up that the cab sounds like it is about to explode. I don't know what kind of wood the cab is made of but it can't be very good. Balsa maybe. In my opinion the only use for this is to use the -15 jack in, keep the volume low, and it can be a decent practice amp where you wont annoy anyone. Just don't expect more than that. There is no way I would gig with thing. Before I bought it I read a couple of reviews where they said they were gigging with one. Must have been in a library... I thought it would be a nice, light set that I could practice on at low volumes with and play small gigs with but in the end I sold it for $250, which is going towards a better amp. I suggest you do the same. It does look pretty cool though.
