"Ampeg 4x10 BSE-410H"

I found this cabinet to be really great. It has all the punch one could ask for and it is light to move around. I highly recommend this cabinet. I am using an ampeg power amp to push this can along with another cabinet with one 15.

"Ampeg BSE: Heavy on quality; light on weight -- and your wallet!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've tried other cabs, and I don't see any reason to switch. If this one were lost or stolen, I'd buy another. The sound is great; and this 4x10 is nearly as light as some 2x10's! (I call the BSE line "Ampeg Lite.") For someone with a bad back (like me), it means not sacrificing the sound of a 4x10 simply because of weight.
Sound
Very punchy; yet clean, without any harshness. The lows are very impressive and comparable to cabs that are much more expensve. I've played other 4x10 cabs where low E/F just disappears. Not with this cab -- it punches right through, with a great growl and no loss in dB.
Features
I would have preferred a variable rheostat-type control for the horn instead of a 3-position sliding switch (i.e., On/Off/"Middle-of-Road"). Also, Speakon input jacks would have been nice.
Quality
Well-made; very solid. With its carpet covering and metal grill, it's very rugged and roadworthy -- more so than the more famous Ampeg SVT line.
Value
It's as good -- or better -- than cabs that are far more expensive.
Manufacturer Support
The Ampeg techs helped me out with info on how to rewire mine to internally bi-amp the woofers and horn.
The Wow Factor
Very attractive cab; better-looking than the rest of the Ampeg line -- especially the popular SVTs! It's got very clean lines; and the silver-grey metal grill (with Swiss-cheese holes) is really sharp and rugged (very similar to the new re-designed Mesa-Boogie cabs).
