I've played guitar for a very long time and decided that I should finally purchase and nice acoustic. I've played Alvarez guitars before and was impressed by their quality. Alvarez guitars are exceptional and the best part is they can compete with Taylors and Martins for a fraction of the price. The case has a vintage look and the guitar is a beauty. My advice to anyone looking for an excellent guitar is to seriously take a look at this one. I agree 100% with all the other positive reviews it's received.

I have been playing for roughly 55 years, and have owned more guitars than I'd like to admit to! I have owned several that were WAY more money than this guitar. I don't think you'll find a warmer, better balanced guitar that projects any better than this instrument! Additionally the looks of this guitar are a perfect match for the sound produced. This guitar is beautiful!!

Just received this beautiful solid wood guitar and it plays like butter. Made a miner adjustment on the truss rod to lower the action and plays and sounds as clean as my Martin D-16 and Taylor 310!! Great Value and great quality. WOW!!!

This guitar is a true hidden gem. Was looking for something that could compete w a 1000 dollar guitar for a reasonable price point. This guitar exceeded my expectations. Right out of the box I was floored by the look of it. It has a personality that stands out big time aesthetically speaking. Soundwise... It just blew me away. This thing has extreme sustain to the point that it almost sounds like it is plugged in when it is unplugged. The action was perfect for me. The neck plays fast and it is set up perfectly right from the start. Plugged in you have a crispness and sparkly tone that literally gave me goosebumps when I first checked it out. It is lush and well balanced. Not too bassy but not too tinny either. Just right! I’m a big Monte Montgomery fan and love the sounds he gets w his Alvarez... I’d say you can achieve Monte-esque tones w this instrument. It has the feel, sound and appearance of a guitar that is easily 500 dollars more than you’re paying. Now for the bummer.... I was sent a guitar w a tuner that doesn’t work. The tuner button will not click in place unless you force it or hold it down and try to tune one handed. This isn’t a deal breaker, but it spoiled what was otherwise a wonderful experience in getting a guitar I am hoping will last me for a very long time as my number one go to acoustic. To zZounds credit they did send me a free tuner and a cable as a consolation. They offered to exchange it on their dime, but due to the fact that I loved it sooo much, I decided to just bargain for the tuner. Everything else works flawlessly. That is literally the only reason I took off a half star. Could have been perfect. For the money, I wish it would have been! Your likelihood of getting a guitar w that same problem is probably pretty low. I’m just lucky like that.

This guitar is awesome, well built and very beautiful! It plays and sounds like it cost 5 times as much as it does. The resonance is impressive, and it hits the low, mid-range and highs you want. It also comes shipped in the case. If you are looking for that awesome guitar and do not want to pay $3000 for it, this is it. I love mine.

This all solid body mahogany guitar is breath taking not just from its sheer beauty, but the build quality is excellent. When I pick it up to play I go through a moment of awe and appreciation for the fine instrument I have in my hands. This guitar is an exceptional bargain for its quality. It has totally soothed my guitar acquisition syndrome (GAS as players call it).It came perfectly set up all I had to do was tune it up out of the box. The images that Amazon provides don't do it just. Go to youtube and search for this guitar, watch and listen to the demos and reviews of this guitar. This is the best $1000 you will ever spend on a guitar, and it comes with a beautiful classy hard case. Yes, it only costs $699 but it punches well into the $1800 range of comparable Martins, Taylors or Gibsons.Build quality is impeccable. I know eventually the prices on these Alvarez Masterwork guitars is going to rise. It is inevitable as the quality is great. Alvarez went through a period where ownership changed and now the ownership is back in the hands of the original company, and the quality is superb. I love this guitar.

I too have been playing for a very long time, and used to own a music store, early 70's, to late 80's, and sold Alvarez, and Yairi guitars. Both excellent! Alvarez seemed to drop off the radar for a time. Nice to see them back! I always thought we got MORE than we paid for with this brand, and now they're back! I bought this guitar expecting something special, and that's exactly what I got!!This one look, sounds plays beautifully

When I opened it first I wanted to send it away because it’s says Made In China on a label. I was disappointed.But after playing that instrument for couple days I got in love. I love the natural sound of it and long sustain. The midrange is nice and crisp. I love the rosewood fingerboard. It really connects with my hand and it’s very smooth.

I am only giving this an overall value of 3.75 Stars. I think the guitar beautiful plays well but mine has a buzz on the "G" string on the 1st 2nd and 3rd fret there is also a finish blem on the guitar body just above the fret board. I am hoping a new heavier set of strings will resolve the buzz issue. The guitar is a bit brighter than I expected out of an all Mahogany guitar again could be due to the strings. I am still debating if I am going to keep it or return it.
