"Excellent buy for Excellent sound!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I expect to get 10 years of normal use out of these...or more. If they got crushed by my Unimog today I'd replace them with the same ones, no question.
Sound
I use them purely for listening to music. They do justice to everyone from Michael W Smith's "Freedom" to Kurt Bestor's "Innovators" to Secret Garden to "Best Blue Note Album in the World". I've tried about a dozen different headphones ranging up to $150 Sennheiser's. These have the best all around frequency range that you can actually hear coupled with being distinct enough to hear stage noise of breathing flutes etc. - and for the price it's nearly unbelievable.
Features
No features needed.
Quality
Seems to be constructed well. They're simple, look good and have a great design for fitting anysize head automatically.
Value
Best value in what you get. My next favourite pair (Denon AHD-550) are a lot more.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed support.
The Wow Factor
They look good hanging beside the stereo.

"Buy some unless you're rich enough to buy some really expensive ones"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Should keep me occupied for a few years yet, they'll probably meet their ultimate demise under an amp at some point.
Sound
I havent't used many headphones, but I can confirm that these do give a sound pleasing to my ears and don't seem to distort at loud volumes.
Features
Noise attenuation? well im not sure exactly what this means but im pretty sure these phones don't do it very well, like a sieve both ways I'd have said.
Quality
Seems fairly robust, I feel that if i were to jump on it fairly hard I could write it off in one go, but if you don't walk on them too often then they feel like could last a fair few years.
Value
Rather good value for money I think overall
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had the pleasure as yet
The Wow Factor
Well, I don't think I look too silly wearing them, but come on man... earphones don't pull chicks.

"Save your money"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Pretty junky. Save your $30, and invest in a better pair. Because you'll want a better pair after having these for a couple days.
Sound
They don't sound very good. But for $30 they sound alright.
Features
None. It's all one piece, and the headband is too easy to stretch out and get it stuck.
Ease of Use
Plug it in, and it works. Until a couple months later.. now sound only comes out of one ear.
Quality
Junk. I was impressed at first.. cheap headphones with a decent sound. But after a couple months the sound no longer comes out of the right ear. The headband fits my head decently, and it isn't too uncomfortable. But it doesn't even fit bigger heads. The ear pads get uncomfortable very quickly.
Value
If you need cheap headphones NOW, then yeah, go ahead and buy these. But you'll want to upgrade in a few weeks, or a month. Only buy these if you need a cheap, temporary solution.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't contacted them. I'm not really sure I even want another pair, but I may call them tomorrow.
The Wow Factor
No, not at all. I would only consider getting these again if I was in a bind and needed to buy a few pairs very fast, very cheap, and only to use for a day or two.

"An average headphone, with mediocre sound quality."

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
In short, the K-55 sounds pretty bad. I have a AKG K240M and have been very satisfied with it, so I thought I
Features
It feels relatively comfortable. The design is similar to other AKG headphones (self-adjusting head band, one-sided cord, etc).
Quality
Average quality made in Chian. I don't like the fact the ear pads are permanently glued to the headphone (but it's not like I would want to get replacement pads anyway!)
The Wow Factor
I don't want it!! Actually at the first sign of intermediate connection problem at the jack (the scratch noise, off and on connection), I threw it away, even though the rest of the phones were fine. I have no regrets. Normally, I would just replace the phone jack with a new one. So I don't want it that much.

"Very comforatble, average+ sound."

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I'd buy another pair when these one's break.
Sound
Okay, these don't sound particularly amazing. BUT,,, they are a very listenable and pleasant sound, and for $29 I'm not bothered about acuracy.
Features
One pair of cans, one long cable, one 1/4inch adapter. done.
Quality
I've dropped these things, run them over with a chair, dragged them across the floor, and they *still* work just fine. That means a lot for a $30 pair of cans.
Value
I really like them. A lot. Don't have high expectations for what you get for $30, and enjoy them instead.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to call them, but they have a nice website.
The Wow Factor
Like I said, these are very comfortable to wear. Apart from that, well, you're not going to win any beauty awards for wearing them.

AKG K55 Headphones Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The sound and sound quality is good, the headphones are relatively well shielded. Perhaps not the best for monitoring and production, but excellent for listening to music.
Features
Plug them in, listen. What more features could you ask for. ;)
Quality
The reason why I love the K55's is the build quality. I've had my pair for a number of years, I can't even remember how many. I break headphones that cost three-four times the K55's in a fraction of that time. I've rolled over the cord with my office-chair a number of times. They are actually so old now that the paddings are beginning to dry out, without them becoming uncomfortable to wear. And that's another thing, for me, this is simply the most comfortable headset I've ever owned or tested. I searched for the K55's to get an additional pair for the office, not to replace the pair that I already have, to me it's as good as new. The cord is comfortably long, so you won't have to get an extension cord, but it's pretty much useless for portable players.
Value
I'm having a hard time imagining that the K55's can be beat at the $29.99-price listed on this site.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed any.
The Wow Factor
They're big, and not the best lookers, but comfortable to wear.

How long do you expect to be satisfied with this product before searching for another product? UNTIL THEY GET STEPPED ON GOOD.
Sound
This product is pure junk. I don't know really good headphones from bad, but these just plain suck. distorted, can't keep up with the "super bass" its supposed to have. They sound as ugly as they look. plus, I don't expect them to last for long because of how cheaply constructed they are. AKG should be ashamed to put their name on this sorry product.
Features
Long cord.
Quality
can buy better at radio shack for $19.95
Value
I forked out the $29 to have some enclosed cans on hand.
