Sound
I've had the Yamaha DGX-505 keyboard for a month. It has tons of excellent voices and drum styles. It's piano "box" keys have pretty decent piano-like action and it's adjustable touch sensitivity is very good. I've been able to record pretty complex songs after just a quick read through the user manual. This brings me to it's glaring shortcoming, and that is, the inability to turn off the automatic accompaniment during recording. This means that if you record the Style track (automatic drum track) along with another track and you hit a key at around about G below middle C, it plays and records major chords for the key you hit. So, what you have to do is either record the automatic drum or Style track first and count measures, then do the other tracks, or you have to record a right-hand track first with the drum track. I think most keyboard players naturally want to record a bass or two-hand track first along with the drum track, and you can't do this. I am surprised that Yamaha was not able to avoid this problem. Still, the other benefits of the instrument outweigh this shortcoming in my opinion, and the keyboard is an excellent value.

Manufacturer Support
The company showed pretty good service, but I was dissapointed that they told me they had upgraded the shipping to meet a birthday delivery, when in fact they did not. They didn't make much of an effort to accomodate this request. If you don't have read more any special requests, they're fine. Also, they shipped missing accessories to me pretty timely.
