2009 Compliant so it’s Free from FCC & DTV Concerns. Metal Stompbox Receiver with 1/4 Wave Detachable Antenna.

A breakthrough in wireless technology, X2 XDS-Plus Guitar Wireless System from Line 6 delivers award-winning solutions that traditional analog wireless systems simply cannot deliver.

Providing guitarists with total freedom, superior tone and refreshing simplicity, X2 XDS-Plus, allows for a completely uninhibited musical experience. Performers can finally keep their energy and attention on their performance, not on their rig. X2 XDS-Plus provides this kind of revolutionary support.

Boasting extended frequency response and dynamic range, X2 XDS-Plus produces brilliant sound quality comparable to that of high-quality audio cables. Instead of tripping over dozens of feet of tangled cable, performers will fall for X2 XDS-Plus's clear and powerful tone.

Featuring an extended range of 200 feet, the length of a hockey rink, X2 XDS-Plus provides at maximum range the same blazing signal and brilliant, uncompressed tone that it provides at the source. Analog wireless systems, notorious for rolling-off low end, force players, especially bass players, to sacrifice tone for wireless functionality. With X2 XDS-Plus, players can easily interact with the crowd at the foot of the stage without any loss in sound quality.

Extremely versatile, X2 XDS-Plus even simplifies the recording process. The extended frequency response, 10 Hz - 20 kHz, satisfies the expectations guitarists have come to demand from high-quality cable, but without the tangled mess. With their rigs cranked to 11 in the iso-booth, read more guitarists can play near the band and keep the all-important vibe and that ensures a great take.

Eradicating common issues that adversely affect traditional analog wireless systems, X2 XDS-Plus utilizes exclusive Line 6 dual-RF technology to guarantee a strong and constant signal and to neutralize issues of static, interference and jamming caused by cell phones, wireless networks and other unforeseen or unknown sources of RF energy.

Free of complicated setup, X2 XDS-Plus provides out-of-the-box simplicity. Complete with all the batteries, antennae and accessories necessary, it's easy to fire up X2 XDS-Plus and hit the ground running.

Definitely a long-term buy for me. Studio quality sound and an attractive package combined with rock solid construction. I'd buy another if it were stolen or broken. Note the limited battery life, however. If you play long or multiple sets in a night, you'll have to have a second transmitter or a backup battery to keep from running out of power.

Sound
Excellent sound quality, comparable with premium cables.

Features
While there aren't many features to consider with an instrument wireless system, this one comes with the one you need most: Selectable frequencies. If another band is using a similar model or if the sound guy uses a wireless mic, there's no need to worry weather or not there will be interference. Also, the receiver unit has a transmitter battery status element that's amazing. No pulling the transmitter around and trying to read the little red dot. One look at the transmitter and just count the green dots. 15min for each dot.

Ease of Use
Plug in and go. The most complicated thing is selecting a frequency, which requires the only button that isn't the "Power" button on both units. Can't get easier.

Quality
Bullet proof all the way around. Even the bodypack feels solid. Comes standard with an instrument cable that's obviously designed to wear on you rather than your strap (almost 2 ft. long). Battery life is a little short (about 5hrs on a read more single 9V), though any serious player replaces batteries every show or 2, so that's more than enough.

Value
Definitely dollar-for-dollar the best value for an instrument wireless system.

Manufacturer Support
No need for support yet.

The Wow Factor
Very practical for the touring musician, and great looking. Unlike rack units, doesn't look awkward sitting in front of a floor effects unit (I use the Floor Pod Plus). Plus, it's practically covered in blue LEDs. How can you go wrong?
