Spring reverb. Tremolo. High-gain switch.

VOX expands its popular series of Pathfinder amplifiers with the classically styled, Limited Edition Pathfinder 15 SMR (Super Mini Reverb) "mini stack." It features a 15 Watt head, a matching 2 x 10 in. vertical cabinet loaded with specially-voiced Celestion speakers, and a wealth of time-honored VOX tones.

Features
Gain / Volume / Treble Bass

Gain boost switch for high gain distortion

Analog Spring Reverb with Depth Control

Tremelo with Speed and Depth Control

Headphone output

Line output

External Speaker Output

Footswitch jack

Housed in a distinct head/cabinet configuration, the Pathfinder 15 SMR offers the same great feature set as the Pathfinder 15R, including controls for Gain, Volume, Treble and Bass. A Gain Boost switch increases preamp drive so the amp can deliver traditional VOX clean sounds as well as modern high gain distortion. The Pathfinder 15 SMR also features an analog Spring Reverb with Depth control, and Tremolo with Speed and Depth controls.

Other features include a Headphone output, a specially filtered Line out, and an External Speaker output. A footswitch jack is provided for connecting the optional VFS2 Dual Footswitch (which allows the player to independently switch the Gain Boost and Tremolo functions). The Pathfinder 15 SMR also boasts classic VOX styling with diamond grillcloth, basket-weave vinyl, and pointer style control knobs.

If I lost this, I would try to find another one. It's just a great addition to have to throw into the mix.

Sound
A little noisy for studio applications. But for jamming or live gigs, it stands out. Crank it up and stand back. This amp can really pump up just about any pickup you throw at it. The 2 10's with closed back cabinet are outstanding. I even use the cabinet as an extension cab for my Mesa Boogie F-30. Massive lows and sweet British highs. Don't be fooled by the 15 watts. It will handle any small club with ease. I carry the head to live gigs as a back up. Plenty of raw power or get that classic British Invasion.

Features
The on board tremelo is classic. Nice low end, mids and highs. Kick in the gain and this thing really shines. The reverb is the typical Vox reverb. You have to ask someone if it is on because after a while you can't tell anymore.

Ease of Use
All controls nicely placed and easy to figure out even in the dark. Optional foot switch is a must.

Quality
Fairly well built. No worry's about anything coming apart. Durable enough for road use without a problem. Nice and light, no back strain here.

Value
If you can find one, get it and hang on to it. For the price, it is well worth it. I kind of use it like a pedal. For special occasions or that special sound, I always have it hooked up and ready to go. read more Also makes a great back up amp for just about any situation. But it is a no frills straight ahead amp with plenty of gain, just have your pedal board ready for anything else.

Manufacturer Support
Don't know, have not had to deal with them and I have had it for about 3 years now.

The Wow Factor
Aside from it's great sound, it looks really cool too. And with the stack setup you have some fun options. Close your eyes and listen closely, you can almost hear the Kinks.
