Overview
The TC-Helicon MP-70 is what every singer deserves: a microphone engineered for the sonic realities of modern vocal performance including the requirements of vocal effect processors. You'd expect nothing less from the only pro audio company 100% dedicated to the needs of singers. This mic is excellently suited to run with TC-Helicon effects unit and other vocal processors, and is designed for today - where the advent of singers using studio quality vocal processing on stage has transformed live vocal performance. The effects used by modern vocalists require off-axis noise rejection and frequency response that the majority of dynamic instrument microphones re-purposed for singers just can't deliver. TC-Helicon MP-70 delivers all that and more.
- 50Hz -18kHz frequency response
- Patented neodymium magnet structure for high output
- Outstanding off-axis noise rejection
- Designed to complement vocal effects processors and pedals on stage or in the studio

Superior Vocal Tone
The proprietary Lismer capsule design uses a patented neodymium magnet structure for high output and uniform performance. The placement of the super-cardioid capsule provides best in class off-axis noise rejection and feedback suppression. In addition, a dual material diaphragm with light and rigid sections produces optimal high frequency response. If you're making use of the most recent developments in vocal processing, this microphone can help give your sound… read more that studio-produced edge.Designed for Singers
TC-Helicon's modern performance vocal microphones are not a multi-purpose microphone. They are designed and voiced for the realities of live performance. Whereas many vocal microphones get their target frequency response several inches away from the capsule, MP-70 is voiced for the close-up mic technique modern vocalists use. Singers also expect a rugged design built for live performance. TC Helicon's MP-70 uses a special heat-treated and hardened steel windscreen grill to provide up to 10 times the durability of non-hardened grills. read lessSpecs

I have been using an EV ND767A for the past years, which I like for their brilliance. The MP70 has a different character, warmer, less inherent brilliance but, in my opinion, a larger sweet spot. I tweak the PA to give me the brilliance. The mic is heavy compared to the ND but I use it on a stand so that is no problem. I can sing away from the mic and still get a full sound when I need to push.
No feedback problems with this mic but, to be fair, I had no probs with EV either.
Bottom line, I look forward to using this every gig.
Musical Background:
I've been playing guitar too long to mention. I had a long professional career and now I'm retired.
Musical Style:
These days I play Jazz, standards and old rock using a Brian Moore guitar.
