Complementing your individual style, the Tama Silverstar Jazz shell kit features a solid, focused, full bodied sound that is versatile enough for any musical application. Additional features are hardened steel triple flanged hoops and an improved Star-Mount suspension system with slideable tom holder. Whether you're recording or gigging, enjoy the open-ended sonic palette of the Silverstar line.

All Birch Shells

Carefully selected birch materials are utilized for the Silverstar shells.We use the same manufacturing process and methods to create Silverstar that we use to build our high-end drums. The end result is an instrument that exhibits powerful rich tone and resonance usually found in more expensive drums.

- Tom Tom: 6 ply, 6mm
- Floor Tom: 6 ply, 6mm
- Snare Drum: 6 ply, 6mm

Improved Star Mount System

The new Star-Mount System was designed to increase the resonance of the drums. Four minimal contact points suspend the drum without touching the shell and provide maximum tone and resonance

Swiveling Eye Bolts

The tom brackets feature eye bolts that swivel from side to side so they're never in the way when you reposition your toms.

Slidable Tom Holder

The MTH905N double tom holder makes it possible to move your toms forward or backward simply by using a drum key to adjust the locking tension bolt.

Upgraded Low Mass Lug

Silverstar drums feature newly designed separate lugs. Because these new lugs make less contact with the surface of the shell, they allow the drums to fully vibrate.

Note: VK are wrap finishes while VL are lacquer finishes. Cymbals and cymbal stands not included, sold separately. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Tama products.

Overall: arrived yesterday, set it up for a lengthy practice. out of the box is LOOKS stunning.new hardware, wood grain(red transparent) and the birch wood. the stock heads for everything will have some life on them. i was least excited about the snare after reading and watching about it but its LOUD with no too much substain. the toms are deep and open sounding but still articulate. i debated and checked out all the 4 piece kits of this price range and i feel i chose the best one. my band is loving it. for such a small kit its louder than most standard sized kits. i was using a tama all maple starclassic prior and i can say ill be using this kit for years to come. if you need a solid, good looking, GREAT sounding kit, this is going to be your best bet within the up to 1200 range. if you want, just upgrade to some die-cast hardware and eventually switch out the drum heads. it comes with great drum heads out of the box though.
