Lightning-fast response paired with Tama's innovative Cobra Coil technology make the Iron Cobra a double bass pedal unlike any other.

The Iron Cobra continues to evolve! TAMA's innovative Cobra Coil pedal spring accelerates the return of the footboard to its original position. The result is unbelievably effortless action that sets the already smooth Iron Cobra apart from all other pedals on the market. The Cobra Coil is a standard feature on all Iron Cobra models.

Power Glide off-set cam pedals are typically chosen by players who want steady, powerful, and speedy action.

Power Glide Cam

The best-selling Iron Cobra of the series, the Power Glide features a double-chained offset cam which increases power and speed as the beater reaches the end of stroke.

Cobra Coil (US.PAT.NO.7408104)

Until now, the only way to adjust your beater stroke action was to tighten the pedal spring. The unfortunate result? Heavy, sluggish action. The Cobra Coil solves the problem by adding a steel return spring. The return spring constantly presses the footboard to its original position, tightening the relationship between foot and pedal. Even better, the Cobra Coil is adjustable to different positions on the Iron Cobra footboard base plate.

Cobra Pedal Housing

Iron Cobra pedals come equipped with nylon insulators for the bearing housings inside the pedal frame. The insulators keep the bearings centered in place and secured in the most stable position. This ensures proper bearing support for the drive shaft without unnecessary stress. The end result of these improvements is the smoothest pedal action possible.

Speedo-Ring

TAMA read more eliminated another source of friction by replacing the traditional nylon rocker cam with the Speedo-Ring, a rocker cam with a high quality built-in ball bearing rocker.

Oiles Bearing Hinge (US PAT.NO.6100460)

Offering even less friction than standard ball bearing, Oiles bearings also eliminate side-to-side motion and provide superior durability (which is why they're used in the aerospace industry).

(Oiles bearings is a registered trademark of the Oiles Co.,Ltd.)

Spring Tight (US PAT.NO.5365824)

Twisting springs severely reduce pedal smoothness. Spring Tight, a clever half-moon shaped spring tension rod, keeps the spring from twisting so there's never any loss of power transmission.

Iron Cobra Beater (US PAT.NO.5317946)

The Iron Cobra beater adjusts the beater head angle to guarantee a flat hit to the bass drumhead every time, translating your strike into maximum power. In addition, it's easy to obtain different bass drum sounds simply by changing the beater head.

Vari-Pitch Beater Holder (US PAT.NO.5297467)

Vari-Pitch beater angle adjustments are completely independent of footboard angle. The Speedo-Ring allows you to adjust the angle of the footboard link independently of the beater angle. And with the combination of the Speedo-Ring and the Vari-Pitch, you can achieve any kind of stroke and also enjoy improved playability.

Para-Clamp II (US PAT.NO.6011208)

Para-Clamp keeps your pedal flat on the floor no matter what your bass drum angle. The Para-Clamp is tightened from the side so you never have to insert your finger under the footboard. And since you can clamp your pedal to hoops up to 14mm (9/16 inch) in thickness, Iron Cobra will fit just about any bass drum in the market.

Tight Lock

Tight Lock makes sure the beater shaft stays put by fixing and locking the square head bolt which fixes the beater shaft.

Pedal Anchor

To keep left-side double pedals from walking, a special stabilizer is mounted to the outside frame. This augments the stability of the floor anchor bolts.

Quick-Hook (US PAT.NO.6137040)

Quick-Hook not only allows rapid spring attachment and reattachment for rapid set up and tear down, it also eliminates wobbling and allows maximum power transmission to the Speedo-Ring. And you never have to worry about it slipping off during performance.

This pedal is amazing. Right out of the box this pedal is a beast, hands down. There is not one flaw with this thing.

Sound
The pedal itself is extremely quiet. Which, for me, switching from an old pair of pacific double pedals that I bought from a flea market for 40 bucks makes one hell of a difference in my focus factor. No squeaks throwing me off. As far as the beater/head sound, well this pedal makes one hell of a punch. The powerglide came really attacks the bass.

Features
Every feature of customization is helpful. I really enjoy the quick hook assembly. And people can say what they want about the Cobra Coil, but personally I find it very useful. Just about everything on this pedal is adjustable to create a truly personal feel for whatever style of drummer you are.

Ease of Use
This pedal isn't difficult, whatsoever. The only effort you will invest in this is time. That's all, you'll just have to tinker around with it to get your settings straight.

Quality
This pedal is a solid piece of metal. There is nothing at all that is fragile about this tank.

Value
With the massive range of prices out there, this pedal is easily the best and most practical on the market. You do get what you pay for, and with this pedal you're paying for what you need.

Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to read more deal with them. However, Zzounds was amazing ton deal with. We had ordered the Jim Root Telly and called Zzounds up a day later to add this pedal and two days later it came in the mail. Truly some amazing service.

The Wow Factor
You take one look at the foot boards and you know you're playing a beast. Its not too flashy, but just sharp enough. And you know you'll get some envy when yup walk into a show and you're carrying that hard case.

Musical Style:
Hardcore, Punk, D-Beat, Thrash, and more recently Alt Metal
