I may upgrade in the future but it will depend on this bass' performance. It's the old saying, "If it works, don't fix it!"
Sound
The sound is strictly electric bass. Some would say "Of course! It IS an electric bass!" however, I have played basses that run from super low and mellow to slap bass sharp. This bass will not reach those extremes but it does provide enough variation to satisfy most players.
Features
The only feature I didn't like was the neck adjustment. It's still the old style (under a cover plate on the head). I prefer the adjustment at the bottom of the neck. Sometimes a quick adjustment is needed without having to find a small phillips screwdriver to remove the cover plate.
Ease of Use
My bass did not come with any instructions. It takes a while to figure out which control is which. If you don't know that one of them is a pickup blend control, you start to wonder "What is this control for?"
Quality
I rated this bass a 10 but I will qualify that. This is excellent quality for a $300 bass.
Value
Worth every penny!
Manufacturer Support
I rated this in the middle only because I have not needed to use Schecter's support so I have no basis for comparison. By the way, not needing their support also says something about the bass.
The Wow Factor
I have the dark blue metallic. I love the color and I have received several comments about it.
