Bought this second hand, its a couple of years old BUT sounds good and plays great. Upgrade heads, hardware and cymbals as and when you can. This is a great kit to build up piecemeal. Sure, it'll never be a £4000 superkit, but for anyone but total pro's, it will do nicely and grow with you. Only downside - bass drum pedal was atrocious and needed immediate upgrade.

Sound
Tune it well and the cheap-looking pre-fitted heads produce a good, punchy sound. i will upgrade those heads eventually as I bought this 2nd hand and theyre a bit battered BUT for the time being they are fine. The shells themselves seems sturdy and produce a great sound, with resonance if you want it, but this can of course be removed if you want a duller sound. Cymabls? Yes, they arent the best. Another thing on the 'upgrade at a later date' list. But, again, they work fine for now.

Features
You get everything you need for a low price. Stool, cymbals, hardware and great sounding drums. Could have done with a second crash cymbal (having only one crash/ride is one of the ways they keep the cost down I guess). Superb stuff.

Ease of Use
Easy to tune and great to play. With one exception - THAT BASS DRUM PEDAL!!!! oh dear - its awful. I had to upgrade it immediately - it seems of so much poorer quality than the rest of the kit. Its truly a hindrance to playing well. Bad cymbals just sound a but naff, cheap hardware will… read more just break eventually. But a bad bass drum pedal will prevent you from playing well - this had to go. IMMEDIATELY.

Quality
Looks very well made indeed, shells are solid and have plenty of lugs. Hardware is on the flimsy side, although double-braced, but will work fine until it breaks. Only that bass drum pedal lets the side down. Bought a Tama HP300 to replace it. Much nicer :-)

Value
Cant beat this for value. Yes it isnt perfect but it is everything you need at a very good price. and the fundamental quality of the shells (snare included) mean that you can upgrade the peripherals as and when you like. The core of the kit, the drums themselves, are absolutely great.

I genuinely enjoy playing this kit. Ive played more expensive kits, but knowing youre using your own kit, that sounds great and didnt cost you the earth, feels great.
