Peterson VSR StroboRack Virtual Strobe Rackmount Tuner
No longer available at zZounds
Tune up to 30 times more accurately than a needle or LED tuner. This strobe tuner features 34 sweetened tunings for a wide variety of instruments.
Overview
The VS-R StroboRack features Peterson's now legendary Virtual Strobe tuning technology. With Peterson's 1/10-cent accuracy - up to 30 times better than the accuracy of needle/LED tuners - the StroboRack is the most accurate rack tuner on the market today!
Precision Accuracy
An important advantage of Virtual Strobe Technology is that no "in tune/out of tune" decision is ever made electronically-a process inherently subject to inaccuracy. Your eye simply interprets the motion of the pattern as an indication of tuning error relative to the target pitch. Only this method provides the high level of resolution in a Peterson strobe tuner that allows unprecedented accuracy in tuning to "standard" pitches and permits one to utilize the subtler shades of altered temperaments and Sweeteners found as presets in these tuners. It is this superior precision that also allows user-programmed tunings with up to 1/10th cent resolution settings to be achieved.
Huge Sweetened Tuning Library
The StroboRack's tuning library contains a whopping 34 tempered and exclusive Peterson Sweetened tunings (see side bar). Along with the popular GTR & BAS presets, the StroboRack features unique presets for acoustic guitar, DADGAD, 12-string guitar, baritone guitar, E9th, C6th & Universal steel guitar, Dobro and resonator guitar, and electric violin, as well as tuning and intonation offsets for Buzz Feiten Tuning System equipped guitars. User-defined presets allow a user to tie an instrument's Sweetener to a… read more drop/capo setting in order to create a uniquely-named preset for instant recall from the front panel.
Built Like a Tank
The StroboRack's enclosure is a uniquely cast piece that makes the chassis incredibly strong and impervious to the rigors of the road. All jack sockets are by Neutrik, guaranteeing optimal connection quality and long-lasting durability. The StroboRack supports use of a rear-mounted detachable BNC rack light for patching in gear under low-light conditions. Remote mute control is available with standard third-party pedals. (BNC rack light and mute pedal not included.)
Backlit, Customizable Display
Even in the darkest of situations, the large, easy-to-see display allows hassle-free tuning from far away. The display's contrast is optimized for tuning in very bright environments as well, for stage or outdoor use. Easily replace the backlit StroboRack logo on the display by programming your band name, your hit song name, or anything you want your audience to read when you aren't in tuning mode.
Add an Optional SR-EX Pro Expander for More I/O
The optional StroboRack expansion module allows users to add balanced, stereo and mono input/output jacks to an existing StroboRack, enabling use with stereo, hybrid and balanced instrument signals. An on-board, independent active DI, and footswitch-selectable channel outputs and presets make the StroboRack the logical choice for professional live & studio use.

Ok string whipers here it is, playing at home, studio, or live, this tuner or any Peterson strobe tuner is a must have.
I am a 53 years old with bad night vision and i can still look across
the stage and see the large back lit strobe panel. All I have to do is hit the mute on/off floor pedal and tune any of my guitars with perfect accuracy. I first thought the price was a little high for a tuner but after i got it and worked with it,
I think it's a little to cheap....Don't tell Peterson!
