Orange Crush Bass 25 Bass Combo Amplifier (25 Watts, 1x8")

Want crushing bass tone that fits in your backpack? The Crush Bass 25 is the perfect compact rig with its onboard tuner, aux input, and analog signal path.

The smallest Orange Crush Bass Combo retains the character that makes Orange the choice of the world's most iconic bassists. You wouldn't compromise your bass sound with the band, so why should practicing at home be any different? Whilst the Crush Bass 25 may be the smallest model in the Crush Bass amp range, it still retains the warm and rounded tonal character that make Orange Amps the choice of some of the world's most iconic bass players.

This 25 Watt combo features an all-analogue signal path, a ported cabinet for improved low end response plus a highly responsive active EQ section. Like the rest of the Crush Bass range, the amp's variable parametric mid band allows for unlimited control over a broad range of frequencies in addition to the bass and treble. Dial in a massive range of classic bass tones or create your own. With an integrated tuner, an aux. input for backing tracks and a headphone output with Cabsim circuitry, the Crush Bass 25 is the perfect miniature rig for all players on which to hone their tone.

Watch us run this Orange Crush Bass combo through the gamut of tone:

Powerful Active Parametric EQ

The Crush Bass 25 features an EQ circuit inspired by Orange's prestigious 4 Stroke Series amplifiers. At its centre is a parametric mid band. This presents players with a much greater degree of control over the sound than a traditional EQ, allowing them to vary the frequencies they want hear. The mid band covers a wide range, sweeping from 300Hz (fully read more counter-clockwise) to 2.7kHz (fully clockwise), meaning this amp can be fine-tuned to suite any musical style. The active circuitry allows for up to 15dB of boost or cut on the bass and middle frequencies, and up to 20dB on the treble side.

Analog Design & Ported Cabinet

The Crush Bass series delivers fat, rounded sound thanks to an all analogue signal path. The Crush Bass 25 houses an 8" speaker with a reflex port for improved low-end response.

Cabism Headphone Output, Aux Input & Chromatic Tuner

The headphone output features Cabsim circuitry which emulates the response of Orange's stage-ready OBC bass speaker cabinets during silent practice. This signal can also be sent to a console for seriously authentic direct recording. The aux. input allows for connecting external audio sources for backing tracks whilst the handy onboard tuner makes for quick tune-ups between jams.

Classic Orange Styling

Finished in Orange's legendary livery dating back to 1968, the Crush range features basket weave vinyl, woven speaker grille cloth, signature 'picture frame' edging and iconic hieroglyphs on the control panel.

This bass amplifier is all you could ever want/need for a practice amp. The build quality of this amp is fantastic. It’s very solid with no rattles whatsoever. Orange knocked it out of the park here. The porting on the rear is a great feature and I think really gets some some sound moving from the 8” speaker. The amp itself has a decent amount of weight behind it too. The aesthetics really can’t be beat, it looks awesome. Portability wise, it’s really a nice size. The control panel layout makes it very simple to dial in a great tone. The EQ is very responsive and the frequency knob helps you cover a lot of ground. The tuner functions very well and I had no trouble getting my Stingray bass in tune quickly. The volume is pretty impressive given its size, obviously you can only push an 8” speaker so far. I didn’t notice any rattles or “farting out”, even with the master volume pushed quite high. It would easily fill your bedroom or living room with a full, punchy sound. Overall I give this amp a solid 9.5/10. It’s fantastic and I highly suggest giving one of those these a try. Orange makes fantastic products, regardless of what price range.
