The Sixth in a Series of CEO Specified Features

Tradition. Ingenuity. Tone. Quality. It's still all in the family at Martin. Each generation of the Martin family has made a lasting contribution to the quality and innovativeness of Martin guitars. And Chris Martin, the sixth generation Martin to head the company, is no exception.

From the outset, Chris has embraced modern technology and its application to guitar making, including computer assisted carving machines, hybrid bracing systems, high-tech finishes, alternative materials, sustainable "smart wood" sources and the like.

At the same time, Chris has been a fierce guardian of the Martin heritage, blending traditional building methods with the technology to make guitars of extraordinary tone, beauty, finesse, responsiveness and stability.

Based on the early "Sloped Shoulder" Dreadnought design originated by Martin in the 1930s, the 14-fret CEO-6 features a solid wood Red Spruce "Adirondack" top (just like original design) joined to a body of premium, bookmatched solid East Indian rosewood.

The slope shoulder body size, or "S" (for "special" as the more elongated body was later referred to), read more was considered to be one of the best sounding Martins by C. F. Martin III, Chris's grandfather and mentor.

But Chris Martin has added his own special tonal features to the CEO-6, including Modified Hybrid A-frame top bracing developed under his direction. It, too, is renowned for its exceptional tonal capabilities, with a big, yet highly articulate voice.

Above all, the CEO-6 is a player's guitar with Martin's unique Performing Artist neck profile for faster and easier playing in all positions. It also has wider, more comfortable string spacing on the 1930 style belly bridge. Bone nut and bridge pins, and a Tusq compensated long saddle add resonance and sustain. Played fully acoustic or plugged into its Fishman F1 Aura on-board electronics, the CEO-6 delivers all the classic Martin tone, subtlety -- and volume -- you want.

This is an especially beautiful guitar, available in a highly polished lacquer natural finish as standard or in a spectacular "tear drop" sunburst finish at no extra charge. The top is elegantly bound in vintage grained ivoroid and has a faux tortoise beveled and polished pickguard. Fingerboard and bridge are select black ebony. Gold Grover tuners with large buttons complete the perfect aesthetic mix.

Buy it now if you're an advanced guitarist! It sounds so ridiculously good, no acoustic could sound better.Like someone sprinkled angel and unicorn magic dust on it.Unless you have another $3000+ Martin set-up perfectly. If you have a Taylor or Gibson, sell it and buy this CEO-6.Yes, the Gibson True Vintage (also w/ Adirondack top) has great tone but poor playability. I'm a pro level advanced guitarist with 22 years playing experience. I've played many $3000-$35,000 guitars. From 50's vintage to top of the line boutique. For example I just played a $6500 street priced MacPherson and a $5000 Breedlove with solid Brazilian Rosewood back/sides (only 5 made) and Taylor all solid koa $3999 street and they do not play or sound better than this CEO-6. Plays so smoothly even with full step bends at the 15th fret on all 6 strings. The tone is so perfectly balanced between low, mids and highs.Clear clean full booming bass. Frets are perfectly leveled and crowned. Fret edges are smooth. All components of this guitar were chosen by the CEO of Martin himself! It's a total dream. I wanna give this to my grandkids. I hope it lasts a 100 years or more. Also looks like a one piece neck. Adirondack is a way better sound and investment than Sitka, although subtle. Only Alpine spruce and Bavarian spruce is equal in value and sound quality. Yes, I've played new and vintage Martins that didn't play or sound as good because the strings were too old and dirty and the string action and intonation was not read more right. But this one straight out the box was perfect in every way. And the case is the nicest case I've ever seen in my life. It has 6 gold latches. 4 in the front and 2 in the back, and it's really heavy and sturdy.
