Dialing in the Fuzz

Your Mojo Hand FX Crosstown fuzz pedal features four controls to shape your axe's sound -- tone, gain, volume, and body. Your tone control determines the brightness or darkness of your signal, and your volume sets your output level. The gain control brings in the fuzz, taking you from a very pleasant clean, to a few rough edges, to a heavy and over-the-top fuzzy breakup. The body control allows you to manipulate the amount of low end flowing in with your guitar's tone, so you won't have to drown your signal in mud to get all the distortion you want.

The Mojo Crosstown Fuzz is a germanium/silicon hybrid fuzz circuit that offers you more control, more flexibility, super low noise operation, and guaranteed stability. The hand-picked combination of germanium and silicon transistors coupled with an internal bias control gives you the option to tailor the Crosstown's gain structure to your personal taste without having to worry about stability issues such as overheating.

Even at the most extreme settings, the Crosstown gives astonishing note clarity, and when coupled with your guitar's volume control, can yield pristine yet fat clean tones at almost every setting. In addition to the standard GAIN and VOLUME controls, the Crosstown features two additional knobs for total EQ control. I purchased this pedal to use in my home studio. I wouldn't really call it a traditional fuzz pedal. It is more like a hybrid overdrive/distortion pedal. Nonetheless this takes nothing away from the sounds this pedal makes. It is a very clean and well-defined distortion.Through my tube Fender amp it never got muddy or lost any emphasis on single notes or chords. I am extremely pleased with the overall sound of this pedal.
