"Truly one of the most beautiful nylon guitars I've ever seen."

This instrument was recently at a studio in Hollywood, CA. that I was hired to do some work in. While I was waiting in the control room, I walked over to it. (It was hanging on the wall) I asked the engineer what it was and proceeded to pick it up and noodle around on it. I was there with my own nylon stringed guitar for a jingle I was recording. Long story short - I played this guitar for about 25 minutes and didn’t want to put it down. The feel, the sound and its sexy good looks had me totally sucked in! This is a non-traditional (sort of) looking instrument but with a very traditional build. The engineer asked what my thoughts were. He had also never heard of the brand before it had showed up in the studio, but was also impressed with it. We did wind up micing it up in the studio and recording it. The sound was full, even and vibrant. It had a terrific snap that mine lacked! Later that day at the gym, I was talking to a buddy about this guitar and oddly enough, he had just heard about them too. He was at an ASCAP function recently and saw Ray Parker playing a custom model. I went home that day and decided to read a bit about this guitar that had captured my attention. The guitars looked good and the specs seemed to be good as well. The interesting thing was that I couldn't really find them anywhere. Today I was surfing online and up popped an ad for Merida Guitars here on zZounds. I was psyched! I'm getting my pennies together and will definitely read more be making a purchase soon!
